my persoal belief is that people in same gender parings should at the verry least have the right to have thier union reconized leagaly like a marrage, they should be allowed to adopt children and should be allowed the rights thhat are equl to those of a married couple.
here is why:
You know humans are not the olny member of theanimal kingdom in which there heve benn documented cases of long lasting parings between members of the same gender.
Homosexuality has shown up in captive penguins, it's has shown up with horses, and birds of prey, though it is usualy olny noteed in captive animals, or ones that posess a certin amout of stud value therefore implying that homsexuality/ bisexualty is perfectly normal, it shows up in certian individuals and not others....
If i recall correctly the solitary blue ringed octpus (the males inparticular), will attempt to mate with any mature individual of their species that they come across... mind you octopi are not just dumb animals studies have shown that they are infact quite intelligent.
Therefore although homosexuals and bysexuals are not the typical for a species, such sexual preferances are far from being unnatural or abnormal.
--------------------------
Marrage is a union reconized by the state, and ideaily every citizen of the united states is allowed equil protection of the laws, unless they have gone on compromising the rights of otheres.
therefore by banning gay marrage you negate the rights of those whose religious beliefs hold that there is nothing wrongwith a union between pbeole of the same gender. This idea may be offensive towards those who's religion state it is wrong. Then again here in the united states you have the right to be offenceve to otheres if it means staying true to yourself, just so long as you do not compromise othere people's rights. _________________ say hello! at zahz's keep;P |

And, for those who haven't heard yet, the marraige amendment is back in the news. IIRC, there's a vote scheduled for it within the next week. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

And the vote was today, and it failed. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

| Besides, there have been studies done that show that being raised by a homosexual family does not change the child's sexual identity. |
As much as I personally disagree with homosexuality, I have to admit that this statement is correct. There is no serious affect on a child's sexuality.

Works for them, even if it doesn't work for you. But it's their lives, not yours. _________________ May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead.

But the concept of what an immoral act is varies from person to person. Granted, I'm not a religious person, never really have been. One thing that I do not appreciate, however, is being told by another person what I can and cannot think and accept as right for me. I try not to force my beliefs (such as they were) on others, and I like that courtesy to be extended to me. I also feel that this courtesy should be extended to all people, whether heterosexual, homosexual, Christian, Muslim (sp), etc. down the line of all the variations that can exist in human culture.
I see nothing wrong with raising your children with your own beliefs. They're your beliefs, not someone elses, and you should be allowed to raise your children in whatever beliefs you hold and have no one else try to force their beliefs on your children. By the same token, neither should your beliefs force those of a different persuasion (such as homosexuals) to try and conform to your beliefs by either magically becoming heterosexual or to prevent them from adopting a child.
(Couple of side notes. Forcing your beliefs on someone is not the same as discussing them openly with people. I'm more worried about the "If you don't believe what I do then you're going to HELL" type of issue. Beliefs do not include things like child abuse, for which I feel intervention is 100% necessary). _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

In my religion it's "love the person, but hate the sin" Gayness is a sin, but you shouldn't hate that person or judge them for it. So, I'd say illegal in terms of belief, but legall in terms of not interferring with someone elses life. So, either side has benefits and doubts
and please don't get all negative to my psots, it really bugs me, I'm trying to agree with every one. |
Maybe you should wonder: why is it a sin? (just saying, not wanting to be all "attack-like " ^_^; ) |

But is it "hating the sin" if you allow it to happen?

If you try to make everyone happy, you'll find that your position is full of contradictions. Make your decision, find ways to back it up, and stick with it unless a convincing case is made for another position. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |
