I personally see no harm in letting people be happy. Gay marriage is just like regular marriage: two people love eachother and want to spend the rest of their days together. I don't see how one could be so blind and hypocritical... yesterday it was racism and now it's 'sexual orientation'-ism. The past certainly does seem to repeat itself, now doesn't it?

Sex is for reproduction. Marriage is for ensuring property rights after death. How pragmatic. It's cold, efficient. And yet, if every act of sex produced a child, the planet would be dead by now, and if the only purpose of marriage were property, or in other words money, there wouldn't be nearly as many divorces as today. Where's the love?
A child will ALWAYS be influenced by its parents. To go through life without being affected by external influences is impossible for everyone, except maybe the deaf, blind, and numb. Children are impressionable, because they're learning and growing and absorbing information. If a child is raised lovingly by homosexual parents, chances are it will grow up to be open-minded towards hoosexuals. Is that such a bad thing? And if it grows up to be gay--as Dark said, some people may not like it, but homosexuality is not going away. _________________ Hi, again. |

Assuming god created humans, of course. _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

Not a single person in this world can read the mind of god. XP Besides, were adam and eve married in the first place? |

Before even adressing whether or not that has any bearing on the issue, there are major flaws in that argument. One: It assumes that God (the Jewish, Christian and Muslim God) created people as described in Genesis. Two: it assumes that people know what said god desires. Three: it assumes that the will and desires of such a being has any bearing on anything.
That's three strikes against it before even starting on the issue. Using an argument like this requires you to show, unambiguously, all three of the points above. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |
