How did you find your Dragon name?

I was trying to think of something cool and maybe unusual to call myself and then DragonSpirit just came to mind because I thought it sounded nice Thats about it really!

I go by Obsidian now because it 'fits' better than the other names I have tried in the past. Once apon a time of course, I had a 'true' dragon name, but it occured to me that I no longer had any right to it. It had been earned in my rite of adulthood on another world, in another life, and the dragon that had EARNED that name was, well, dead.
So now I name myself after a type of volcanic glass.

And it does SOUND sort of dragony ^.=.^

My dragon name is Eve (short for Eveningstar). I know, not the most original name, but my brother said it once, and I thought it had a nice touch to it.

I found my Dragon name as Delechete in a dream of mine. I forgot exactly when I had this dream but it was over a year ago to two years ago. In that dream, I was in a building or house. The house I was in was almost exactly the same as my grandmother's house on my father's side. I lived there for eight years with extreme turmoil. I was walking through the house when I noticed an odd hallway that looked different. Something like Silent Hill, the first game. I saw my mate, and I in our true forms painted on a large light brownish aged room. The room looked to be rectangular shaped. There was no light in the room yet I was able to see clear as day. I walked towards the paintings on the wall. I became very scared, yet drawn to the large bipedal black Dragon/ness painting who was standing next to hir mate who was a tall ish white or light Grayish Dragoness. She too was bipedal. About this time I noticed that I realized that I was being drawn from the very second I entered this house to the tall black Dragon/ness and hir mate's painting on the a weird looking wall. When looked at the paintings I noticed that both gave off a "shine" of power. The black Dragon/ness' power far outshone his mate's but hir mate's power wasn't to be trifled with. I stared while slowly walking closer from around five to six feet at the black Dragon/ness' painting. I was no more than an arm's length from the painting when I stopped when I noticed that the painting looked very 3Dish and alive just as hir mate did. I felt very compelled to touch the black Dragon/ness' painting. When I touched it, I felt all of my fears of it melt away instantly. I felt hir very vast Dark and Light Magicks flow through and into me as well as a "wall" of memories suddenly crack or almost break. I passed out from the sudden rush of powers. An unknown amount of time passed when I awoke in the same hallway. I got up and looked at the black dragon/ness' painting again. It looked dull and looked as if time took a beating on it's former gleam, and exceptional quality. I looked at the White, or light Grayish Dragoness' painting. She still looked very 3Dish and alive. I felt that it wasn't mine to bother, but to await my mate. At this point I finally "woke up" enough to realize I felt indescrible amounts of Dark and Light energies surging through my body. I looked around for a "point" in my mind that was pulling me somewhere else in the room. I walked back some feet, and looked to my right. A little over my head on the light brown ish colored and aged wall was a single word. This single word was burned into the wall, yet still bled black. At the time, I saw the word as clearly as one could see in day.

I didn't pay any real attention to my dream, other than knowing that the name had quite alot of signficance to me. I felt very strongly that it was a former name of mine. It was a long while later that I found my one of my brothers, Lithian, through the help of one of my other online friends. He helped me to understand that the word I saw on the wall was my name. It took me a while to remember the name as it was coming back to me jumbled up, and fuzzy. I used my feelings and memories of that event to piece it together. He was cool with how I found out my name. In those bleeding black letters on the wall in my dream, it spelled "Delechete".

No this ain't a story. May sound like one though. lol

I can't tell if I dreamed this or what, it was kind of weird. I just remember one morning waking up and Galadreil just stuck in my head. I never really put any though to it until now when I started wondering what my dragon name was.



DelecheteDareston, I sit here in awe. I think that I may have had something similar, although I can't remember it well, I do think I had the same dream about 2 years ago. What I remember was the hallway, as you described it, and a picture, again as you described it, but I turned away I think, because it wasn't mine to touch or behold. I also remember being scared the whole time. Then I think I heard a voice or maybe a mental image of "Galadreil". I never thought though that it was my name though until now. Perhaps my soul or me is still searching for its/my painting.

And what a revelation to find out that you do have a true mate out there who has yet to make this journey. I'll bet that when she does, that you will be re-united once again. As for me, I'll wait for the day when I finally complete my end of the journey, at least I have my name though.

Ironic too is the fact that you posted this on my birthday, I think fate is having fun here, its going to be interesting what happens now.
