Well, before i was Dragonkin, and pretty much just a fan. I went around by the name of Dragonflame. Once i met other Dragons and eventually joined them, they always called me Flame. It's a name i keep to honor my friends, but i've grown very customed to it.
Nightfall is a different story, i once had a dream where i was with my Dragon parents, my father was partially a Black Dragon and my mother Blue one. And suddenly, in the dream, my father's last name sounded, for it was as dark as his scales...
So there's my background... Hope you enjoyed reading it. |

Why is it that everybody's dreams are so vivid while mine just seem like little blurs and every great once-in-a-while I can make out what is going on, and then I forget later in the afternoon? _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. Heh, i know what you mean, don't have a lot of dreams that were so real and on topic. So it's a reason more to believe it ment something.
Normally my dreams don't make any sense and don't survive my memory till the next day either. |

It varies from person to person; I've seen at least two people tell me they don't dream at all. Another major part is how much effort you put into remembering dreams right after waking up when memory loss is most likely to occur. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

Mine was found, when I was concentrating on my dragon-self in the time I hadn't found my dragon form yet. I was just thinking, saying words that came from my mind and tried to feel connection with them. And suddenly, the name "Monarth" came to my mouth and it was immediate connection, that snapped all. Soon after that, my dragon form started to form up to my soul. I didn't "make" the name, it just came to my mouth from somewhere. _________________ Why do we avoid the rain? I have been trying to take a similar rout to find my true form but have been unsuccessful if my attempts. The name Galadreil has some sort of meaning to me but I cannot truly fathom why other than it is my name. This name came to me in a dream and I do not know exactly why but when I woke up it stuck in my mind and has not left. When I meditate I try a similar, if not exact, method and I try to call this name and I don't know if the dragon within me is lost or dormant, but I know it is their and I will continue to try and bring it forth.

I am sorry but if I were to name my son or daughter "Eternity" what would you do about it? Lets say I took a name from your books and named one of my children with it. You could try to sue all you wanted but you're either not going to find a lawyer or attorney who will take the case or you'll flat out lose and lose fans, companies willing to publish your works, and lots of money. And also, what if you were to come up with a name, use it your book, and find out later that it is the same name in another book? You going to sue them even though yours is newer?
Its people like you that make me think at times that there is no hope for humanity because all you care about is your pathetic possession of mere words and names. Ya if I went and wrote a book and used the same names I would be committing plagiarism, but until something like that happens where plagiarism actually comes into play you have no legal right to sue. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. I've been reading about you and your name for a while, goldendragon, and what amuses me is people saying it's the name that is borne by the Elven Queen in LotR. They're wrong. Either they're wrong or you're consistently misspelling it. Your name, as you say it, is "Galadreil" with the e before the i. The character they are thinking of is named Galadriel; it is written similarly in the English language, certainly, but it is a world away in pronunciation. It's amazing how much the simple reversal of some letters can change the way you say something.
As for holding a copyright on the name "the Dragon of Eternity" that's a failed endeavour and if you're going to sue over it you can bet someone else will sue you. Here's something you can copyright: your book. Yep, the whole book is yours. And if you invent the word flicknasquatchel, then you have a copyright over your new word. But those four words are not new, and have not even been combined in a unique way. I don't see what there is to copyright. It's an idea describing a dragon that represents eternity. Other people can use it, other people can say it, other people can use it as their name. And it's a VASTLY overused name. "Eternity" makes me shudder as a character name. If you want a name you can sue over use for, don't use a word already in existence. Nobody sues someone naming their character John Smith, though it's a terrible name choice for a book, and nobody will be able to hold a suit against someone who stole the name "Eve" or "Autumn" from a book. Chances are that the books including those names aren't all that good in the first place if they have to use an actual DESCRIPTOR as a word to tell you who the character is. The feel of a word can do that. Take my character Slythe for example. It's not a word you've seen before in common English use, is it? It's not a proper word. It's not in any dictionary that I know of. But you can get the feel of it, can't you? I wouldn't sue over someone using it, of course, but I would contact them and express my concern over their use of the name and ask if they had gotten the idea from me. If they had, I'd then politely ask that they not use it, and offer to make them a new name if they need one. It's that simple. Thinking of which, there's one other person on the internet who uses the name Shomti, and I need to go ask him how it's pronounced. _________________ Happy Fourth of July everybody! I must say I feel slightly jealous. You talk as if saying your name for the first time was something of a transformational experience... The first time I said MY name, all I got was a nasty headache and a snarling tangent on how I "fouled it up by saying it wrong" simply because my tongue isn't forked. ^^;

I realized this too, but I realized it too late after I'd already posted and just sat meekly hoping that nobody else would notice. _________________ The statement below this one is false.
