Im a straight A student and I dont even play strategy games, fps's are more my thing. And I think with the more than an hour thing the kids that they had play for more than an hour was probably just not as good of students, video-games does not rot the brain. The only negative effects I believe is in effect with them is, no exercise, eyes can go bad if to close to tv, obsession (which can happen with almost anything), and carpel tunnel. Also, anybody play halo 2 on live? making a skirmish team.

I don't think video games rot the mind, but they do distract you. They are an excellent place to procrastinate, serving the same effect.
