to answer the issue of video games promoting violence, it's true.
shooter games such as DOOM, tom clancy series, etc, can lower obstruction from shooting people. to shooter fans, real life people is just like a virtual figure as sitting ducks for many infamous school shootings like the harris & klebold incident. they even admitted in notes and occaisional school assignments on essays or tales that involved blood and death straight from DOOM they played. feel free to correct me. |

No. Wikipedia does not suffice.
And anyone who said that video games MADE them go on killing sprees lied outright. They were just trying to put the blame onto something else, and the general populace is only too eager to demonize one target above all others. There's always someone else to blame for something, and the whole thing about video games RECOMMENDING it (actually I'd say it's more the media than anything else) doesn't make any sense. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

So much for that argument then. Even if someone were to outright claim that a video game "trained" them (and they have claimed this) I wouldn't believe it. All video games can train is reflexes and strategy no matter the genre or setting, and that could be picked up from anywhere else and used in too many other places besides shooting people. Malefactors don't pick up ideas from video games; the very idea is simply too preposterous. They get the desire to hurt others from their own twisted minds. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

actually it's true that school bullies are capable of driving innocent people over the deep end and cause them to start school shootings.
in dylan and klebold's case, dylan started thinking of shooting people at school when he got arrested for theft and were required to take anger management classes. during the shooting, they justified their actions on abuse from school bullies. this isn't true. _________________ Really, you should know better than steal a bowl of ramen from a Dragon.. *slu-u-u-rp* |

Sure wasn't. They actually went on that rampage because they were Social Darwinists and were unhealthily insane. >_<
What really made me mad was when that one guy (forgot his name) shot up a courtroom or something and then said that a Grand Theft Auto game "trained" him. It sounded stupid to me immediately, but I also realized there'd be tons of people who'd irrationally leap at the chance to blame a dumb game for the actions of a crazy mass murderer. My guess was, I regret to acknowledge, totally correct. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

I have a friend named Mikey. He used to be in gifted and talented classes. He plays a lot more video games than I do. He dropped out of gate in 5th grade. I didn't. On the other hand, Anthony plays more games than I do as well. He's the 2nd or 3rd smartest in my class.
