I would like to go to both shows provided I have the cash.... and self controll not to spend my self into sdebt XD.
Lets see Ibelieve we have a small sea urchin fossil and some dinosar bone. Its a bone fragment though so there is no gaurentee which type of dinosar it is from.
Ah lets one of my favorite things in my collectiion (if it is truly possible to blay favorites in this .) is my gypsum about as long as my thumb it has a shape syimmlair to a single honeysuckle blossom, and iis a pale rose tinted orange in color. _________________ say hello! at zahz's keep;P |

Darn That sucks. there used to be a site that sold many fossils and minerial specmins (some sales were only open to museaum bids though), including an array of dreged up teeth from mammoths and the megladon sharks. Frequently their invantory included a variety of skulls too. Sadly the site was nto there last time I looked as it had been replaced by a directory page I'll try to hunt it doun to see if they were forced to change the adress and what not. The company shipped out of Austrila and had a good number of positive costomer responces, I have heard form a person who usualy sells opals and rainbow obsidian at our local rock show that that is one thing to look for if buying specmins online. _________________ say hello! at zahz's keep;P |

Nice, a crazy bunch of druids have recently set up a stall at the local market and oooooo very purdy rocks they have, one of them has a peice of Kyanite covered in gem quality emeralds that she found in the Congo. It's a stunning specimin. _________________ The Dragon: The Nature of Spirit, the Spirit of Nature

Might I suggest you buy some large plastic tackle/tool boxes (the heavy duty plastic ones ), they are sturdy and some even come with some small boxes syimmlar to bead sorting trays. I have found both to be wonderful ways of storing specmines and other items I have collected ( I had a bead box for some of rhe smaller items in my elephant collection and used to have one full of sea shells). Each of these choices allows for different compartments so you can store syimmlar specimens seperatly along with info about each one. that way you'll be able to easily find a given rock as wellas tell what it is quickly and easily. As an added bonous there are anumber of them out there with clear tops , or at least a tray type top with a clear cover.( a real biggie for me if it isn't in plain sit I might easily loose track of it)
Using this method the rocks wont be taking up a tom of shelf space or be scatterd allaround your room, but they will still be readily acessible. as to not knowing what they are a good feild guide could help you out there. _________________ say hello! at zahz's keep;P |

I now have a collection going, courtesy of my grandfather, who passed away 5 years ago. He was a big collector, and originally the collection was left around for the two cousins who were interested in rock collecting when they were younger. After this much time though, I thought to ask if I could take any for my jewelry making (many were polished, some were set) and wound up with most of the smaller stones of the collection. The majority are agates of some sort or another (I could look at the lace agates for hours). There were several small fire opals, mexican opals, jade, amethyst, garnet, and montana diamond (not sure if this is different chemically from a diamond, but if it isn't it's industrial grade stone), etc. _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."
