I think a black is just a misunderstood dragon who only acts bad because of what other dragons and people think about them. Could that be true or are they really evil? _________________ The skies speak to me, they tell me what will happen in the future.

No color is just evil, though saying all black dragons are just "misunderstood"doesnt fit either..
Every dragon has its own personality, it can be evil, good, neutral and a large amount of grays between those.. Really, there is no set good or bad thing about any dragon. _________________ Avatar by Vanodalv. Wooh |

Really, from what I have heard they are supposed to be the evilest dragons, but they are only that way if they want. I am writing a book and the evil dragon was black, but he had a reason to be that way, he liked it. _________________ The skies speak to me, they tell me what will happen in the future.

Might want to rethink how you say that in case someone who actually is a black Dragon comes along.
There's a well known black Dragon in the otherkin community known as J-Karrah, yet she wasn't evil during her Dragon life.
But I agree with Zuca, a Dragon can be good or evil no matter what color it is. I'm green, blue, and yellow for instance. _________________ Iseathielos Adismal, the green, blue, and yellow Dragon. This Dragon is me and what I believe myself to be, it is reality for me. |

I'm mostly black, with a bit of green...
The point is though, how can color make someone evil, is evil gene related to color of the skin/scales/feathers/fur now :P ?.
I hardly think so, in a way you could count that as being rascist to dragons ^^.. Only in a different way and no offence ment, just observing.. _________________ Avatar by Vanodalv. Wooh |

Of coarse not! a black dragon isn't necessarily evil, just as a red dragon isn't necessarily evil or breathes fire. I think that a role play company or an author had decided a long time ago that black dragons should be evil, just like silver dragons should like cold climate for instance. I can tell you that whenever the sun is shining and it's getting hot, you can find me outside.
My point is that the color doesn't matter at all. It's his personality that matters, that's what makes us either "good" or "evil". |

Black dragons have the same capacity to be 'evil' as a White dragon does; when it comes down to it, colour has pretty much nothing to do with whether a dragon is good, evil, neutral, or whatever. To stereotype behaviours with colours is something that only exists in human minds, something that was likely made up by fantasy authors and those who made role-playing games such as D&D.
I myself know a black dragon who is one of the nicest dragons I know, actually. |

No he didn't just like to kill becuase he was black, he was born and raised by an evil human and that influenced him. Plus it was his decision to kill anything that did not listen to his rider or even just made him mad. The green dragon who was from the same clutch also liked doing bad things. They just grew up to be that way and their riders influenced that. _________________ The skies speak to me, they tell me what will happen in the future.
