Are black dragons really evil or just misunderstood?

I got banned from Rashan's forum last March, but that doesn't make me evil, it's just that one of the admin's didn't want content from Blenderartists popping up on her forum. (though I wish I'll be able to one day go back to the Dragon-Realms forum)

While Black dragons are typically seen as evil, this is more due to the actions of a majority of the subspecies, as well as the stereotype of "Black=Evil".

While it may be true in some cases, many "evil" black dragons also find it easier to simply fit the stereotype, rather than deal with the stresses of going against what is expected of them.

So, ablack draogn is niether evil, nor misunderstood. It is an indiviuals choice.

Black dragons aren't evil. Color doesn't mean any thing. Nothing born evil. there a reason for everything, you know. We all know black dragons aren't evil, or at least most of us.

Black is only a color, and a black dragon is no more likely to be evil than a dragon of any other color. I can personally vouch for this, because the dragon I would have been mated to (had I not been killed) in my past life was black, himself, and he certainly was NOT evil.

Whatever proportion of them are Chaotic Evil simply are because their parents were. It's all about the people that impact the most on someone growing up. If not for a certain intervention who won't be mentioned here then I might have become a Chaotic Good personality type, rather than a flaming Neutral.

And color... that's just a means of identification. Consider the scenario I display here following: two hypothetical humans. One of them is white, the other one is Arabic. I inform you that ONE of them is Christian. Which would you guess subconsciously? Idea

Well, first a bit of explanation on what this thread is... it was (I think) referring to black dragons in general that appear in D&D games. The non-character unnamed individuals that might pop up as random monsters for "normal" fights in these games might be evil but in at least two NWN modules I've seen a black dragon character who wasn't evil.
