I always get e-mails with a Christian message, but they are far from fitting in this topic of "idiotic e-mails"...
Usually I get them from a friend or from my mom.
But speaking of idiotic e-mails...
Although one time I got this e-mail that showed a dog wizzing on a campaign ad for Hillary Clinton in 2008. And another had Rosie O'Donnell's face photoshopped on top of a captured terrorist's body. I don't agree with things like that... o.o
Not quite e-mail, but sorta e-mail like, are MySpace spam bots.
I have a tendancy to reject any friend request that shows the same picture over and over. If the avatar is of a hot girl, I usually deny the request, since they are spam bots.
I am applauding the way MySpace is cracking down on spam. Buttons have appeared for -friend requests- to mark as spam. I have fun doing that now > _________________ Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return - Leonardo Da Vinci |

| I mostly get, when I get spam, e-mails from false e-mail adresses ( it says they're send by my friends but if I ask them about it they don't know anything) like that someone has added you as a friend on a website and you're not a good friend if you don't go to the link included. I also get about every 6 months the message that MSN will close down and your account will be deleted unless you send the e-mail to at least <number> other people. and sometimes 1 get an long e-mail with something like this: someone is sick and the friends have no money for surgery or something like that. but, they have a sponsor and if you send it back to the original e-mail adress and <number> other people the sponsor will pay money for each e-mail |

You did see that wrong. Although I don't particularly agree with certain stances that the bible takes, I wouldn't laugh at it either.

| I have to ask right away who the heck SENT you that email anyway?? Was it someone you KNEW personally, or just some random moron throwing stuff at random people? |
Totally random person. They had a university email, sent it to about 10 people (I didn't know any of them either). The only thing I can think of is that they got it off of the program home page (I'm studying genetics) which has our emails listed. I asked around but no one else got anything similar.
You were pretty much right in why I found it funny too. First off, the whole thing is just very poorly written. If you're trying to convince someone else of your viewpoint, it seems like it'd be a good idea to at least proofread a little. Second, it really was just a totally, random, out of the blue email. Third, it was just funny how a person could think that a single (poorly written) email could possibly have an effect on converting a person's belief. Last, talk about someone barking up the wrong tree about trying to win some converts... In my case it would be like PETA or the ALF (animal liberation front) contacting me about the "enhumain treatment of lavoratory mouse." _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

Rofl! The more random the spams are the funnier!
Today (having turned off my filter so I could see the entertaining crap) I got one of those "buy a college degree online and receive it in five minutes" thingies. Yes, sure, I'm certain it seems appealing to some people but how could anyone who goes to college possibly FALL for that idiocy? _________________ The statement below this one is false.

*laughs* Along those lines one of the other grad students in the lab got an email stating that he could get his PhD in three weeks with their accelerated online course. It was also one of the ones that was so badly written you couldn't help but laugh. He printed it up and posted it by his lab bench. _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

I got something in the mail a couple days ago telling me I won a free, all-expense-paid Florida vacation. The only thing I had to do was send them my name, credit card number, and a refundable $500 deposit to reserve my space.
Do these people honestly think I'm that stupid? |

Couldn't resist posting this. I apologize but I'm going to have to put in a link to the text of the email that's been going around. It's not letting me copy the text over.
Now is an excelent time to mention the fabulous website snopes.com, slayers of internet urban legends. Everytime you get one of those "forward this email on and Starbucks will give you $100," or "please help find Timmy Johny" emails, this is where you should go. They sort through whether or not a forwarded email has some truth behind it or is all just misinformation.
Anyways, my mom is always sending these types of emails on to me to check whether or not it has some truth to it (or because she thinks I'll get a laugh out of it). She specifically sent me the one about how you shouldn't microwave food in plastic containers since it'll release dioxins that will cause cancer (not true). Along the way I found this lovely forward talking about cancer and how to "cure" it. It's one of the worst pieces of garbage I've read in a while. Not only is the info on cancer horribly incorrect, the tips on how to "cure" it are downright negligent and have the potential to do more harm than good through it's bad advice.
I can't decide whether to laugh or cry at this.
