I assume you are talking about Bel (sometimes called Marduk).
If so, then this information could help you in your research:

Sorry spitfire, my bad: try this one: Early Jewish Writings and click on 'Daniel'.
Tannin sometimes is referred to as Tiamat or Leviathan.
Which would be strange because Daniel had nothing to do with that dragon...at least that is what I thought. Bel (Marduk) killed Tiamat and in doing so created the sky nd the earth. ('After killing Aspu, Marduk split Tiamat in half after opening her mouth with wind. Her upper half was then made into the sky and the lower half into the earth. From that moment on she is the bearer of the sky and of the earth. This is one of the ways Pagans explain the world's creation')

As a god some of people the Jews ran into worshipping, thanks for the correction and answer my question. I just know something about that story sound alittle off.

I remember this dragon and the story, only I'm sorry, I can't remember the names.
*is better at remembering stories* u.=.u
Anyway, on top of one of their towers/zigurats, lived a dragon. ^.=.^ He was worshiped as a living god. When Daniel asked why, the Babilonians said it was because the beast was immortal. They explained that he was alive when their fathers and grandfathers were still little boys, and even they all remembered stories about his age. And since nothing could live that long, and being that big be killed by their (bronze) swords, they started worshiping him.
Actually, all they did was feed the dragon, and had some ceremonies about him... the dragon didn't really care as long he was being fed on a daily basis =P He'd roar from time to time to keep people "in place" and that was all.
Daniel argued that the dragon was just a beast, not God, and should not be treated as such. The people said his immortality and invincibility are proof. Daniel then said that the dragon is just a beast , and as such, can be poisoned. People said: "Ok, prove it." They put poison in fruit that was meant as dinner for the dragon. By the end of the day, the dragon, of course, died of food poisoning. =P
The people of Babilon said "Wtf?!", and were probably crying about all the food they wasted on the animal.
... sorry for the "humor", it's just the way I like to tell stories =P _________________ A knight is sworn to valor. His heart knows only virtue.
