Dragon's Blood
Heart's Blood
A Sending of Dragons
Dragon's Heart (which is kinda wierd that there are 4 books in a trilogy.)

Definatly a good series. I haven't read them in a while. I thought it was a good concept, and although it was a quick read it was well done.

The reason for the 4 book trilogy is that the 4th book was written sometime after the other 3. At first it was called the trilogy because it really was only a trilogy. She then went back, wrote the 4th book to wrap up some of the loose ends, and they added it in. Rather than renaming the series, they just kept calling it the Pit Dragon Trilogy.

The Dragonlance books pulled something similar. The original three books are called the Chronicles Trilogy, but when "Dragons of Summer Flame" came out it was subtitled "Chronicles: Volume 4." I think most people just concider this one to be a stand-alone volume though. Same thing with the "Wizard of Earthsea" trilogy. There's actually 6 books that I know of that fall under the Wizard of Earthsea name, but they keep the trilogy name for the first three, and sometimes the 4th book is also included in that.

The copies I have call it the Pit Dragon Chronicles rather than trilogy, which makes more sense with there being 4 of them. I brought the 3 in a slipcase pack from Amazon without realising there was a fourth planned. Its not appearing on Amazon yet otherwise I'd pre-order it.

I've just reached chapter 7 of A Sending of Dragons and I'm really enjoying the series a lot Smile

I read the first three books, this is the first I've heard of a fourth, but seeing how long its been since I read them thats to be expected.

I remember that the first two books were amazing, but the third felt very strange somehow, and while it was enjoyable, it was not so to the extent the first two were.

Regardless, I am going to look for that fourth book as soon as possible.

I liked it. Only thing I truly hated. When they killed some of the dragons.
I try not to read books like that. It is a complete disrespect toward the dragon race when they kill any dragon whether it be a book, movie, or picture. If you're going to kill the dragon. Please do us all a favor, and let him or her have an honorable death. Let him or her die as Draco did in Dragonheart. That's All I have to say.

What if the dragon in question turns out to be a total *CENSORED*, like Glaurung, Ancalagon, or Smaug?

And the snippy I'm-in-a-bad-mood-today comment is what about other animals in other books? Is it disrespectful of cats to have a cat die in a book, or is it disrespectful of humans to have a human die in a book?

Edit: I was the one in a bad mood, it wasn't a reference to your original comment. Just me commenting on how I shouldn't be saying this because I was in a bad mood.

I was not in a bad mood. It is just a point of view. When almost any animal or human dies. Someone cries for them. How often do you ever here someone shedding a tear for the dragon? I just think they deserve better then to be treated like a cancer on the face of all that is right. Forgive me for being so distorted. Dragons like those, are the ones that everyone misunderstands. All I am saying is if your going to kill the dragon let him or her die with honor.
It is just my point of view, say what you will but I stand by it strongly.

And to the other guy. Ever try looking at things through the Dragons point of view? Think of that. Dragons don't attack people just for the sake of attacking them. Something had to have been done to provoke them.
If you go to Elfwood, I have posted several stories about Smaug.
Just type in his name at the search engine you'll see his point of view.
After all no one deserves to be so condescended.
