The Animation Picture Co. has optioned the feature rights to Sierra Entertainment's "Spyro the Dragon" franchise with plans to produce a stereoscopic 3-D computer-animated feature reports the trades.
The story follows Spyro, a rare purple dragon of prophecy, on a voyage of self-discovery as he struggles to come to terms with his potential while finding himself embroiled in an epic struggle against evil.
Brothers Steve and Daniel Altiere ("Dr. Dolittle 4") will adapt the screenplay from the trilogy of games. No director has yet been hired.

I never really cared for the games, so unless it turns into something spectacular, I don't think I'll be seeing this one. Maybe I'll pick up the DVD or something... _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

I haven't played much Spyro, I need to change that. In any case, hopefully it can do better than the rest of the video-games-made-movies... _________________ DeviantArt Page.

I've only played a few of them, I have to complete A New Beginning before I buy any more. I'm so bad at finishing games. _________________ Avatar art by Zyleeth |

I've seen this, I really hope it's true! Bad/Good rating, it's still Spyro, and cridics aren't fun anymore. _________________ "Don't mind the tail, he has a mind of his own..." |

I always remember seeing the ads on TV for this game when it first came out. I actually buckled down and got it for the PS3 where you can also play as Spyro's mate, Cynder. Or atleast I think they will be mates.
The movie will be good if they do it right but I am assuming it will be for younger audiences but that didn't keep me from seeing the Pokemon movie when it first came out. _________________ -Alciero Aviador Depaz- "The peaceful flyer" |

Yea, I've known about the movie a while. I've heard it's gonna be based on "The Legend of Spyro" series, which had games "A New Beginning", "The Eternal Night" and "Dawn of the Dragon". I seriously loved the story of TLoS series, so I'm hoping the movie will be good, that they don't screw up the story.
The movie is said to be released December 2009.
This is an official teaser poster of the movie. The image is cleaned from writings: http://keyholexii.deviantart.com/art/Spyro-movie-95681229 _________________ Why do we avoid the rain?
