Thank you both, Tysha and Celtore, for answering and for including some words too! I wasn't sure whether my question was going to be fruitful in its results, but it seems it was.
The only dragon language I'm familiar with probably isn't a true dragon language at all, simply made up by a group of people just for fun (though the sure put a lot of time into it!). I guess I'm just curious to see if languages like that hold any truth behind them. No idea what they actually call it, the only name I know it by is the group credited for... writing it, I suppose. Kier Chet, or the Great Circle.
Figured I might as well add something to the discussion... |

Ah yes, I've encountered that one too. The group behind it is theKeir Chet k'Eilerten, a guild on the Order shard of the Horizons MMORPG (I played as an elf on the Chaos shard for a while). From what I understand their language was created for use ingame. _________________ Avatar art by Zyleeth |

Any time I'm glad to offer help when I can.
Also, I was wondering if this is question denotes only an interest regarding draconic languages, or if you're interested in linguistics in general. |

Yup, that'd be the one.

Mostly because they're dragon languages than an interest in linguistics (the only language other than English I've ever wanted to learn was ASL). Draconic languages mean dragons, which I'm always eager to learn more about.
I suppose one reason I might be interested in dragon language might be the differences in mouth shapes and mobility. The dragons I am most familiar with lack many of the facial muscles found in humans, such as those required to smile or frown, and therefore restrict the shapes the mouth can make, translating over to a difference in the sounds of the words. Seeing these words written down (setting aside the inability of English to duplicate the sounds required to properly pronounce a word) makes it easier to 'hear' what dragon speech may sound like.
Not that I spend a ton of time thinking on the subject. I do have my moments though. |

My adoptive clan spoke a language that was probably not spoken by any other dragons. That's all that makes sense, since they never SAW any dragons from outside other than two hatchlings. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

I am not really sure how dragons talk but I do know how they write. They use anglo-saxon runes or dragon script. _________________ Member of S.A.S.D. (Secret and Ancient Society of Dragonologists) |

| I think that, if dragons wrote at all, they would have their own script. |

Well, I certainly don't remember much, but there are a very small number of words that have either come to me in visions or just come naturally to me over a period of time.
Then there are some sounds that I have no idea what they mean, and yet feel some sort of odd attachment to them, even some understanding.
Visions or dreams that I have had have often revealed the names of others, which in my experience have always had some great meaning behind them. Those names were always composed of a few words describing the respective being's self or perhaps their personality or what they valued.
In the end though, this 'language' of sorts has been meaningful to me, but at the same time mostly insignificant due to the fact that I probably won't ever be able to form more than one coherent sentence in it. _________________ Rawr.
