I can't think of a specific example off the top of my head. Oh wait, there's the story behind the "FCC Song" (look it up on Wikipedia), but other stuff is hearsay from my knowledge of it.
"Broadcasting licensed materials" and "interrupting people from receiving"? Thanks for explaining; the question wasn't even rhetorical, I actually don't know much about radio stuff.  That pretty much reformats a good deal of my argument.

My philosophical view of stealing is that anyone has the right to TRY to steal from me and I have the right to counter with whatever measure I desire so long as I don't actually go out LOOKING for thieves before they actually try anything. If someone has the ability to steal from me and get away with it, then they have the right to do so.
Still... that seems rather crude and uncivilized, and a lot of people who've heard this idea tend to  at me. I forget from time to time that humans are different from other animals in that there's also morality that comes into question, not just "Survival of the Fittest". So I retract that statement from my argument as well. At least I'm not a Social Darwinist though. I believe the strong have a right to exploit the weak if they HAVE to, they believe the strong have a "duty" to exploit the weak because "God hates them" or something. 
So now I'd say is make sure your radio doesn't clash with anything. The worst-case scenario is if you disrupted someone else's transmissions.

Actually you're right, Ragnarok, I hadn't realized that one. :P Limitations on the number of frequencys controlled by one person/organization would have to limited by a set number in order for that to be effective at all.
And when it comes to music I believe you should pay the royalties, like I said, I don't support pirate radio in its current form.

the transmitter fried...i modded the transmitter and worked for a month, but it fried...it was fun while it lasted *sigh*
