Our bodies, Dragon or human are designed for both meat & vegetables. I know many vegans and they still have to eventually have to get a meat substitute to get the proper protein that we all need. You can live that way but I love a good steak...

As far as killing animals. I as a kid used to watch them kill pigs and cows at a local slaughter house. Most of the time they where killed instantly. Yes, some had involuntary body movements but they were dead. If someone is really worried how an animal is slaughtered than get Kosher meat because the cattle are killed in a non-violent way because of the Jewish religion.

I eat fish and anything else that I consider to be "lower" life forms. Fish, it's not that they're low life forms--they are, mostly--it's that I like their taste too much. More than I like them, therefore the tradeoff is towards eating them. I eat insects when I have the chance and desire (not often), arthropods of any sort, some kinds of mollusks... I have eaten a single frog leg after my dietary shift away from most meat, only because I was curious, and decided it was not to my liking.

When it comes to animal testing, it's fine on medicine, not on candy and cosmetics. Medicine saves human lives. As much as I don't like human lives, one of those lives it saves could end up being mine. Rats, dogs, cats, and even the occasional chimpanzee are acceptable sacrifices for the lowered risk granted to me. If that sounds arrogant, think how much discomfort/death they prevent among humans.

Finally... by becoming a vegetarian, you prevent as much carbon dioxide from entering the air as you would by switching to a hybrid car. Eating meat is ten times less efficient with energy--in a food sense--as eating plants. To put it plainly, eating one meal of meat is essentially consuming the energy of ten times that meal in plant matter, as energy was lost in the transfer from plant to cow to you.

I personally don't avoid foods because of disagreeing with the way that they are killed, although I diagree with the general practice with fish; (may I add tha I still eat fish occasionally despite this) fish get dragged out of the sea and have to suffocate on the deck - their equivalent of drowning, and then because of fish quotas, quite often a load get thrown back into the sea AFTER they have died. Cruelty, with a kick to the ecosystem thrown in

I gotta eat, and eating is not cheap no matter which way you go at it. And when you restrict your diet, it gets expensive. Honestly I really don't care how my food is killed, grown, or caught. I know....I'm a bit insensitive, but I think you have to be or you'll start realizing the everything you're eating was once or is a living being trying to make it's way through the world and you just contributed to either it's suffering and or death.

Though the dragon side of me feels disgusted at how our race goes about mass slaughter of helpless animals for the gluttony of billions, there is quite literally nothing I can do about it that'll make enough of a difference.
