how do you get an elephant in to a subway?
hint: take the "s" from "sub" and the "F" from "way" _________________ Meet your new master. I have taken hell for my own, ash, dust, fire...... and you! welcome to hell |

This was on a physics quiz and those ALWAYS have tons of trick questions.
Evil (somewhat) Question 1: A truck travelled north for 6 hours at 45 mph then east for 5 hours at 40 mph and has just stopped to refuel. What is its current momentum?
Evil Question 2: A train carrying some large containers open in the top is travelling along a frictionless railroad track. A large load of coal inexplicably materializes out of nowhere and gets dumped into one of the containers from above, filling up the container with coal. What happens to the train's speed?
Evil Question 3: You get into a car at Point A and drive to Point B and then back to Point A. They are fifty miles apart and you drive in a straight line back-and-forth and the round trip takes two hours. What is your averaged velocity of that full time period? (Note: everyone in my class missed this question except me. ) _________________ The statement below this one is false.

Nothing, because it is a frictionless railroad track.

1) Momentum is zero (you're stopped).
3) Distance = 50 x 2 =100 miles divided by 2 hrs = 50 MPH
I don't see the trick... _________________ To the moon!

Distance = 0 because you end where you started. Physics is stupid that way. Leastwise, it is if I'm remembering the velocity formula correctly. _________________ The Lichen grows slowly, atop of a rock.

Ah, yes. You are very correct, Raven.

What is the difference between left and right?
You must answer in words no "*holds up left hand* this is left", and, "*holds up right hand* this is right".

Left is the stuff you leave behind when you turn right around a corner in a hurry.
