|
|
I read this in a dragon history book a while back about how only the male western dragons had large enough wings to fly where as the females had tiny wings and couldn't fly (they just nest all the time). I suppose they could fight off enemies. But they don't have much chance of escape while on foot it seems like to me (and it seems a little unfair too). I know I'm female and have wings large enough to fly and do often. Am I the only one who's even heard of this so called history? Whats your opinion on this? _________________ Love with all your might, Dream with all your life, and live with all of both!

You meant that in the past tense, right?

I haven't, but it sounds like bunk to me. What book was it in?

Maybe true for some species, false for others. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

No, I mean that in present tense, because I while I'm in the forum I use my character quite litteraly as me, not my human character. Sorry, for any confusion.

I was hoping you'd say that.
I can't remember what book it was now. I had it at the last house I lived in and now it's lost from the move but I was curious just the same.

Hmmm... I like that opinion. I could easily go with that. Thanks! _________________ Love with all your might, Dream with all your life, and live with all of both!

Just as a warning, there's several of us (Ragnarok and myself at the very least), who don't particularly like people to refer to themselves as currently being dragons (as in the big lizard type) because, well, we know you're human. Just something to avoid bringing up, especially at the current moment. We were having a bit of a debate with other members and it's still fresh in people's minds.

Not the best example, but I know for sure that in fruitflies (and bees, right?) that the females are larger than the males. I'm sure you could find other cases of this as well, those were the ones off the top of my head. _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

| I've never heard of it either. Personally, I think it's a lot of bull. Though I guess it could be true for some species, I've never met anyone who said that this was the case in their past life. |

I would think that the male dragon (simalar to humans) would be more built for fighting and the female dragon would be built for swiftness. Whethwer that means the wings would be biger or smaller I could't tell you
but I just had a thought shown to me so take it as you will but I'd place my gems on the fact that they would have larger wings. _________________ truth is only revealed to be true to those who believe it. |

Oh, this is good info and it's really helping me see dragon history much clearer now.

It sure does make me feel good to hear that so many people agree that it's all bull, although I do think your right Namhias that we couldn't rule it out completley for some species.
Thanks for your opinion.

I like that theory. It makes lots of sence too. That could even explain the smaller wing theory if the females were quick on thier feet but, then again wings that could fly still makes even more sence than that, because then one would have to wonder why the famales would even have wings at all if they couldn't use them for anything in the first place. So I'm going to agree with every one that females had larger wings and could fly.
