there are some pretty destructive bombs out there, like the earthquake bomb, you send that thing to the core or deep in the crust, it will cause more destruction than it was intended to do. _________________ I'm doing maintenance, and I'm still alive~ |

Assuming that you're talking about this, it's a pitiful amount of power compared to a nuclear weapon. It was designed to generate ground shock waves over localized areas, not to actually generate "true" earthquakes. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

Usually. When talking about a "standard" nuclear weapon, the ones that took out Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of WWII are considered to be small (with a yield in the lower tens of kilotons) when compared to modern weapons (hundreds of kilotons to a bit more than one megaton). The Davy Crockett, though, was the smallest one ever developed, with a yield of between 10 and 500 tons of TNT. By comparison, the largest confirmed conventional weapon, nicknamed the "Mother of all Bombs" (from its comparatively massive yield and size, and its official name which is usually written as MOAB) has a yield of about 11 tons of TNT, or about the minimum yield of the Davy Crockett.
All of these, however, are far larger than the yields of modern bunker-buster bombs, and by extension, the "earthquake bombs" which were the predecessors to the modern bunker-busters.
And it seems that we're getting further and further from the original topic, so why don't we just leave it at that? _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

This is probably way off topic, but I've heard rumor that the internet may be wiped out by not a virus, but by the amount of people it has on it. I'm not really believeing it, but I do hope it doesn't happen. The internet is the easiest way for me to contact Elizabeth. And yes, I'm still with her, even after how many times she has broken my heart. I just love her too much to leave her. _________________ ._> |

though it is true that the internet was not designed to be used commercially or by so many people it can't actually be wiped out...that's kinda like saying that radio signals will cease to exist if a there are too many radios on at the same time.
as to the temperature and the raising of the sea level I'm not sure if the metaling of the polar ice caps will actually cause this as ice takes up more room then water... and most of an ice burg is submerged to begin with. if anything the water levels should actually decline. _________________ The impossible is only impossible as long as the possible has yet to be proven possible
