| as to the temperature and the raising of the sea level I'm not sure if the metaling of the polar ice caps will actually cause this as ice takes up more room then water... and most of an ice burg is submerged to begin with. if anything the water levels should actually decline. |
You're forgetting about the vast amounts of ice that are locked up at the poles, or otherwise above sea level. For example, the Antarctic Ice Sheet contains 27 million cubic kilometers of water, which would create a 70m rise in worldwide sea levels if it were all to melt, and the much smaller Greenland ice sheet is also all on land above sea level, and if it were to melt, sea levels would go up about 7 meters. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

Oh believe me I haven't forgotten. I'm just pointing out that the water level increase so much that we have a water world scenario. _________________ The impossible is only impossible as long as the possible has yet to be proven possible

Well I can say one thing, I live in Michigan and our lake levels have dropped more than 10 feet in most places. I hope that all this snow we have had this year will compensate for the lower that normal lake levels. I still think someone is getting people in an uproar for no reason. Most of us up here say, " If you think " the Greenhouse effect " is real come and live here for a while and your outlook might be different. _________________ Look into the eyes of the dragon and it will reveal your soul.... |

How does "if anything the water levels should actually decline." translate into a water world scenario?

You still need to understand what an "average" is. A rise in the average global temperature does not mean that temperatures will go up everywhere, just that the rise in temperature in warming areas exceeds the drop in temperature in cooling areas. As the ocean warms, ocean and air currents change, which can cause some areas to become colder. Such an event is not out of line with what would be expected. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

It's meant to be spring at the moment in Scotland but we are still getting snow. And in winter when we are normally up to our knees in snow all it did was rain and we ended up with severe flood damage.
So Ragnarok is right. It's not going to get hotter every where. Diffrerent places will be effected in different ways. Like where I live. It's still freezing!!! _________________ On a sleepless evening I sing alone. Tomorrow I'll sing with you on the wings of a dream. |

| It's not exactly snowing in wales but in the morning it's absolutely freezing in the morning. If anything, it's colder where I live rather than warmer. |
