I am not very confident in my ability to call up some of the most rudimentary facts about dragons so i'm listing some abilities dragons possess and try to scientifically explain it.
Now, about the famous dragon-breath, it is possible to generate fire by "breathing." The dragon may have some very small pores capable of spewing forth flamable gases and/or liquids that can be replenished by some means (eating, absorbing, or even breathing the ingredients in)
and has the breath of extreme temperatures to ignite it. Well, about the very hot air part, well, that might be reasonable too. Like some animals who has a lot of warmth stored in the body. Ok picture an abominable snowman with extreme temperatures in the body to survive harsh temperatures (dang i use the word temperature too much) and turn him in to a giant lizard with wings + claws.Now that i typed in my own explaination, well, it's now time to hear someone else's explainations.

| I heard that a dragon stores some kind of flammable gas inside a gland. When the dragon wants to breath fire it breathes the gas into its mouth which meets with a spark on the roof of the dragons mouth. When the spark and the gas combine it makes fire. |

Well, since there are no dragons around here, all of this is pure speculation. I think that every dragon has a different explanation.
I don't exactly know whether or not I could breathe fire, and if I was able to do it, I really don't know how, but just did. |

The movie Reign of Fire has a good theory on how dragons could breathe fire. It says that a dragon has two glands on either side of its mouth, each produces a different chemical that when combined produces fire. I don't know if such chemicals exists but I think it's a good theory.
