This post should be self-explanitary. What kind of anime do people watch, what do you like about them, do they relate to anything in the world? Do you recognize any towns in anime series? Specific landmarks showing up in anime series in which you may also see it in real life? Favorite character, villan, supportive character, animals, tools, weapons, ect? I pretty much want to know what people think about pretty much whatever anime series they like. _________________ ._> |

I've watched all kinds on YouTube and I think I liked the Digimon series the most. I love the whole "parallel realities" scheme in sci-fi and particularly liked how perfect the ending was to the second season. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

I tend to watch a lot, so I'll just give a few of my favorites.
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's and Strikers (the original series does set the rest of it up, but it's not all that good until the last few episodes). It has a good storyline, and is, amazingly enough, a really good "magical girl" anime. I know that genre's been sort of poisoned by Sailor Moon, at least in the US, but Nanoha's a much better representative for the genre. Excellent plot, characters, animation, etc, and a rather unique approach to the genre.
Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Panic Second Raid and Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu. It's a decent show in whole, but the "fish out of water" approach of assigning someone who's been in wars since he was a child as a guard for a high school girl, and having him misunderstand almost everything (taken to an even more absurd level in the "spoof" sequel Fumoffu) is uniquely hilarious. Add the actual military aspects of the show to that, the mecha designs, and a decent plot and characters, and it's another winner.
Shakugan no Shana and Shakugan no Shana II. Honestly, I'm not all that sure why I like this one so much, but it's probably the characters. The plot's good too, even though I think they're trying to cover a little too much this season.
Lucky Star and Hayate no Gotoku (Hayate the Combat Butler). These two really have nothing to do with each other, but they're both essentially parody anime. Rather light on plot, but amusing and recommended, nonetheless, especially if you're familiar enough with anime and other aspects of Japanese culture to recognize all the shout outs and references to other sources.
Utawarerumono. There's not much I can say about this one, since there are spoilers wound up everywhere in it, but it's a medieval (or maybe post-apocalyptic) anime, with a good plot and excellent characters and animation.
Gundam 00. This one's airing right now, so I can't say too much about it, but I've been a fan of the Gundam series since I was in middle school and Cartoon Network put Gundam Wing (and later Mobile Suit Gundam, MSG 0083 and MSG 8th MS Team, to name a few). This one, though, I think is one of the best ones that they've ever done. Despite its setting in the "near" future (2307), a lot of the early plot deals with conflicts that are either directly related to those going on now, or analogous to those going on right now.
And I can't help but mention Negima (the first TV season and manga) and Tsukihime, since characters in those two gave me the ideas for a couple of my Storytelling characters.
And finally, to comment on Digimon (just because Hyraxylos mentioned it). Honestly, I didn't care for the first two seasons. Tamers was good, though, Frontier was mediocre, and Savers was decent. I can't really recommend it, though, at least compared to the ones I mentioned above.
And yes, this is the short list. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

Well, it'd be foolish if I didn't put some reply to the topic I started. There are a few anime series I like.
- Full Metal Alchemist: I like this series because it has some comedy, mostly the part where Ed chases Al around in the desert. It's based on two brothers that are searching for the Philosepher's Stone. They end up fighting many foes and making plenty of friends along the way. There are about eight main bad guys in this anime: Dante, Gluttony, Lust, Pride, Greed, Envy, Wrath, and Sloth. They are also searching for the Philosepher's stone so they can become humans once again.
- Fruits Basket: Fruits Basket is another one of the anime series I like. The main character, Tohru, lost her mother and her grandfather was getting renevations done on the home. So she decided to live in a tent when she met with the most popular guy in school, Yuki. She also meets Kyo and some other dude. She soon finds out the family curse, if they hug someone of the opposite sex, they turn into an animal!
- Bleach: This is another one of my faves, it's about a sixteen-year-old boy named Ichigo who can see ghosts. When he goes to help this one ghost out, he runs into the creepiest thing he never seen before, a Hollow! Rukia, a shinigami, defeats the Hollow and Ichigo tries to talk to her. Later on Rukia snook into his house and saved him from a Hollow. When Ichigo's family is in danger, and Rukia gets injured. Ichigo stabs himself with the zanpakutou, the weapon that Rukia, and other shinigami use. He becomes a shinigami himself (Later on we find out that he actually had his own shinigami powers in the first place). There is some comedy in this series to, along with some badass fighting and possibly some betrayals later on.
- One Piece: Yet another one of my favorite anime series, One Piece. It's about a young boy who wants to become a pirate. He one day eats one of the devil fruits and gains rubber powers. He sets sail and meets some surprising friends and deadly foes later on. One of the friends is a reindeer! Every pirate is after the greatest treasure of all, and trying to gain the status of the king of pirates. Monty D Luffy, which is the main character's name, wants to discover the treasure named One Piece, and become the king of pirates. Will he achieve his dreams, or will he sink to the deepest depths of the ocean?
- BoBoBo Bo BoBoBo: This is the wierdest series I've ever watched. It's, of course, named after a guy named BoBoBo, who has hair-related powers. The most commonly used power is "Fist of the Nosehair", where he stretches out his nosehairs and they whip the opponents. There is plenty of randomness in the series, mostly when Bobobo meets Donpach(Known as Poppa Rocks in the anime series), Jelly Jiggler, and Gasser. But not all is swell, for a corrupt person has declared that everyone must become bald! BoBoBo must stop this villan before everyone is a cue-ball! _________________ ._> |

it's surprisingly pervy but it's funny.
i finished chobits (pretty short then again, it should be since it's pervy)
i finished ichigo 100% which is again pervy too.
why does all the anime i watch so pervy?
i watch .HACK sign (which is fortunately not pervy)
and gundam seed wing or something
i tried watching one piece but it's rare on the internet with subs.
i'm deaf apparently.

Yay! Anime!!!
I'm glad Utawarerumono and Fruits Basket have been mentioned. Loved both of those. I have one friend who's been trying to convince me to cosplay as Uratori (sp) since the game (Utawarerumono) was out. Full metal alchemist is quite good as well. I used to love Bleach but the story lines started to drag so much during the Bound arc that I got tired of it. I still download the eps but I haven't been watching them as of late.
Vision of Escaflowne: Loved this series. It has something for everyone. The short synopsis is that a girl from Earth, Hitomi, gets transported to an alternate world, to the kingdom of Fanalia. She become sort-of-friendswith the young king, Van. The kingdom is quickly attacked, and the rest of the series more-or-less focuses on the travels the two of them have through the other kingdoms, plus all the political intrigue that goes with it, but that's selling the series short in my opinion. Overall I felt that the series flowed very well and the overall story was impressive.
Revolutionary Girl Utena: Probably my all time favorite series. Our heroine Utena was saved by a prince as a young girl (keep in mind this is set in modern time) and ever since then has wanted to become a prince herself. When she starts attending her new boarding school, she soon becomes entangled in a dualing game, the goal of which is to possess Anthy, the rose bride. The final victor gains the power to revolutionize the world, which means different things for each person. Utena is basically in it to protect Anthy. This series is filled with a lot of twists and turns, and can really be looked on as a set of minor character studies (and lots of fights ^_^ . And the music is awsome Have to say the original manga is a bit better, although some of my favorite stories were ones added just for the series.
Twelve Kingdoms: I seem to like the "girl gets transported elsewhere" series. I'm rather peeved I can't remember her name. Anyways, girl from japan gets mysteriously attacked at school one day, until a Kirin in human form (can't bloody remember his name either) comes to her rescue. He takes her to an alternare world. She's originally from this world, but drifted over to our world prior to birth. The Kirin who rescued her has chosen her to be the new ruler of one of the Twelve Kingdoms. Rest of the series focuses on my usual favorite character interactions with other characters and the world they live in. Again, that's selling it massivly short because the story lines are so enthralling.
Two others that I'm quite fond of are Hunter x Hunter (until the 2nd OAV anyway) and D.Gray-Man. I'm a bit too lazy to give good write ups now though... I'm sure I'll think of more later. _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

Never really got into HxH, but D.Gray-Man is pretty good.
ETA: Adding one more to my long list. Honestly, I'm not sure how I managed to forget it: Shigofumi ~Stories of Last Letter~. It's a rather dark series, revolving mostly around one Shigofumi ("letter from the afterlife") carrier. The first few episodes are what hooked me, and are a sort of study on human behavior (sociology meets anime, which is fun), but then a full storyline begins to develop around that character. The idea of the Shigofumi is that after death, some people are allowed to send a single letter to any living being they choose, which contains that person's thoughts from the afterlife. As such, as I said before, it's rather dark, but also quite interesting. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

Huge fan of anime myself, I actually had an anime convention blow through town this weeked at our college, it was rather small, MADICON if you're wondering, no one cosplayed really other then in the LARPs which was alot of fun.We did some pirate stuff and others, soooooo fun!
They had a MAGIC tournament and I came late so I didn't get to participate. But, there was a HALO 3 tournament that I participated in out of twenty I got fifth, which isn't bad considering it was my first tournament! My boyfriend also entered and he was talking about how B.A. he was, it was really funny, he lost his first match and then played me, losing that one too, I think he got eleventh or something. It was sooo funny!
The anime they had at the convention wasn't all that great, they played alot of it, like Tank Police, Gundam 00, RayEarth, Bleach, and a bunch others. I wasn't too worried about the anime room, I was playing with the 501st union of the Vaders Army guys, that was so much fun and then travled past the anime and LAN room into the console room where I played HALO 3 and SoulCaliber. Lots of fun (i think I've said fun alot so far? Haha, oh well)
As for actual anime, I love Trinity Blood, I know everything and anything about that show, it's amazing! Wolfs Rain, Yu-Gi-Oh (yes, I know the original show was the best not that new crap) Vampire Hunter D, RayEarth, Hellsing, S-Cry-Ed, Sailor Moon, Final Fantasy, and many many more.
My favorite Villan would have to be.....hm.....I'm not sure, I'm defiantly a villan person so I really love them all. I like the Lord Priest in RayEarth I can't remember his exact name, I keep hearing Lord so much. That and Cain Nightlord from Trinity Blood or the whole RosenKruez Orden guys.
My favorite Hero would have to be.....hm.....Sailor Moon, haha I know, she reminds me of me, really, as weird as that sounds. She's so goofy and clumsy but takes charge and kicks hard butt! So me.
Neutral character, Ken from Digimon, he went form being a cold hearted jerk to a soft guy whos caring and fun.
I think I covered everything. Oh wait! I went as Sephiroth for halloween last year and this year I'm going as Yuna. _________________ The evidence so far outways the reasoning prooving beyond a reasonable doubt that everything you've been told and seen is true and real. Oh yeah, I'M A GIRL! |
