I believe a dragon would live away from civilisation. Not necessarily in a lush place full of trees, mountains and food. I mean there are crocodiles (or aligators I'm not sure which) that live in the deserts of Africa today.
I have never understood though, why a dragon would choose to live in a castle. A castle is easy to get to, it would be on a map and it may be well known by many. A dragon would get no peace. Unless this particular castle was way way way out in the middle of no where.
Don't take that as if I'm having a go at you Shaprite (cause I'm not. Honest. Pinky swear and everything ) It's just always confused me about why people would say a dragon would like to live in a castle. _________________ On a sleepless evening I sing alone. I thnk people say castles because if a dragon can fit in one, it can probably hide out in a room. Also, it can defend it quite nicely from atop the walls. Some castles are very old as well, and not many would probably want to look in it.
On top of those places I would say they live in forests, in the artic, basically anywhere where animals live now. Maybe even higher atop mountains that are very hard to acess without flight. |

If the castle is really old then I wouldn't go in it for fear of it collapsing, though the dragon living in it would know far better than I
I aggree with Creed though. Anywhere there are animals a dragon could be near-by. Only place I'm having trouble seeing a dragon in would be like a prarie...Far too open and accessible by humans...But I could be wrong _________________ "Teeth rip and claws shred

| I think secluded mountain tops. Somewhere that is not easily accessed by humans and not like Mount Everest which gets loads of climbers. Somewhere where you could easily get food and water and of course, with a good view. |

| Hmm, a prarie. Small dragons that live under ground could live there. Sort of like Meerkats (think I messed that word up) or something. |

your correct, it is spelled meerkats
A dagon could live in the mountains, Its difficult to be accessed on foot. Maybe a valley, where they can get food and water, and their home mountain is right next to them. _________________ Human Name: Shadrel Pendragon

I think alot of people say castles because there are alot of stories with dragons living in them. Caves probably a combination of commonly found in stories and makes alot of sence for safety and convenience.
I think a dragon would most likely live deep in the wilderness, not near civilization. In caves in the sides of mountain cliffs where it would be difficult for someone to reach them. Would probably have living quarters towards the back of the cave where there is less exposure to the elements with a nest strategically positioned as to remain hidden while still being able to keep watch for intruders. Dragons with eggs or pups to care for would probably have a more well hidden nest which would not be easily accessible and not much if any exposure to the elements. They probably wouldn't be away from home for too long unless they had a mate or other trusted dragon there watching after the young for them during the long hours.
So basically mountain caves, close to a good water and food source, and carefully selected so as to avoid changing home sites frequently in my oppinion. |
