| Some bats has scars and holes on their wings. As long as the injure isn't very significant, they still can fly ^^ |

I think it depends how big the holes are. _________________ Beware. I bite! |

I would also think it depends on the type of wings they had as well, fithey were like a bird's or like a bats;)
assuming all dragons had some sort of membranous wings...
A hole in the wing of a dragon with wing membranes like My dragon's (Zahz) likely wouldn't be as significant as one in the wing of a dragon with non feathered / furred membranes..
As already stated it would also likely depend on the size of the hole and the way which the dragon normally flew too.

I have also thought about this because some of my statue dragons have holes in their wings. Guess it depends on the size, but numerous holes might cause problems just like one big one would. I think any small hole might cause a little difficulty when flying. I don't know for sure. _________________ All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you... but first, they must catch you! -Watership Down |

I would more expect that holes in the wings are more an artistic license than actually something you would find on an actual dragon.
Unless maybe it was an old, or crippled dragon, who wouldnt be flying anyway. _________________ Prey, tell... |

I think this was already said at some point. But if you look at bats sometimes you'll find one with plenty of holes in its wings and it'll still fly.
I don't think holes in the wings would be too significant to cripple a dragon's ability to fly unless the holes were that big and/or numerous. Otherwise I don't think the dragon race would be too noted for its ability to fly if it could be ground with a few simple punctures through the wings.
Edit: Also. If one were to get a large number or any number for that matter of holes in just one wing there would definitely be an imbalance. But it's not that difficult (as far as I can tell, this is my assumption) to adjust the other wing to proved an even balance of lift.
You do it all the time with riding a bike, if one side is heavier than the other your body automatically adjusts your weight (after some time and experience) to even out the imbalance and thus remain upright. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell.
