Lies and slander. "Normal" people handle stressful situations all the time. I know a "normal" woman who is currently the only one bringing money into her household, has had all her children move back in with her, and is also raising her grandson because her teenage daughter would rather go party with friends, and also has a suspicious lump in her breast. And yet she's forging ahead and doing what needs to be done.
Could you honestly do so well in such a situation? |

Most otherkin I know/see/have encountered are actually terrible at dealing with 'stressful' situations, and the general definition of "stress" is pretty poor from what I've seen.
These include: My parents won't let me come to these websites! My friends are teasing me because I told them I'm a dragon! Oh noes, I am a dragon in a human body! I don't have a mate!
My definition of stress includes losing a job or nearing it, being in debt, having a negative income, dealing with major and life-threatening illness, being forced to care for another individual, being a parent, etc. Real world stresses.
And yet, "normal" people handle those types of stresses constantly. Don't belittle "normal" people, after all, we're actually all normal. You don't know the thought processes of another individual. They may be more complex, and better, or more simple than your own. There's a variety. And you fall in that spectrum, just like the rest of us. |

Actually that one is just one aspect of a GENUINE problem. Parents that would restrict their children from visiting otherkin sites are likely to be even more restricting in some other respect. Such as "you'll share the same religious beliefs as everyone else in this family or get thrown out onto the street with no food and no shelter and no money because heathens don't deserve love or support from their own parents." I'll agree being cut off from the forum is certainly nothing to fear for one's life about, but there are really parents who would stop loving their own children if it were known that said children didn't share the same bizarre supernatural beliefs as everyone else.

We were just joking around in that area. But the word 'normal' is something of an umbrella term that not everybody can arrive at a consensus about, so I guess in some unique way every person COULD be described as "normal". But then it's also a matter of perspective of what could or couldn't constitute stress based on how much the person in question has been subjected to in the past. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

The one thing that is a pet peve of mine is when people proclaim I worship evil because of my belief in dragons but that is not the case. I am a Christion and I also believe in dragons...alot. Though saddly I have come to understand that I maybe human in this life but I have no doubt that will not be so after I eventually grow old and pass on.
I did meet another and I do love her and I have been edging her towards dragons (I call her my dragoness over email and voice mail). She really doesnt respond to it but she says she loves me alot (she cried when I had to leave her at the airport when my ship was getting ready to deploy the following week) I have thought of my human life in perspective and if I might have children someday.
Though I will never stop believing in dragons and I will never stop wondering about that one dragoness I dreamed of and if she is thinking the same or is waiting for me? Perhaps theres is a darker flipside to my buried memories, who knows. I still remember all of my dreams that I had with flight in them, but saddly, it has been over 3 years since I last had one. I think this is due to my military life now, time seems to fly by so quickly while serving.
I have started my story again after many start and fail attempts. If I do finish it I wish it to be made into a movie that puts Harry Potter to shame and brings dragons to life on the big screen like Dragonheart did. Speaking of Dragonheart, Draco I regard as my number 1 inspirer I remember when I watched that movie atleast twice a day just to see the dragon . Eragon was lacking but Saphira was awesome, too bad she got stuck with a bloke of a dragonrider.
Check out my movie on YouTube about dragons, its "Dragons: Were They Real?" by SamTheDragon31 _________________ -Alciero Aviador Depaz- "The peaceful flyer" |
