k here is a question why don't we just mass produce the hydrogen fuel cells now and not later? gas is getting too high! _________________ forever shall i be a dragon friend even though i have not met one. forever let the dragons live free |

Money.
It's easier to produce oil, then it is to produce fuel cells. A hydrogen car uses an entirely different engine, that, and hydrogen isn't available at the gas station yet.
I think it would be indeed better if we used hydrogen cars, instead of gasoline cars, but I think it will be a while before we're all driving such a car.
I'm afraid that gas companies will continue to use oil, unless they *have* to switch, even though they know that gasoline is a dated fuel... |

Well, it's not so much "easier" as it is that the oil industry has a near monopoly on the infrastructure. Put simply, no one will buy a HFC vehicle without hydrogen stations being as common as gas stations.
And of course there are production issues. For the time being, we just don't have a good way to mass-produce hydrogen.
And as a rather interesting side note, I stumbled across this earlier today.

This is absolutely retarded, but I heard on the radio this morning that people in Atlanta started spam-calling 911 because they didn't have gas. Even the events leading UP to this stupidity were stupid themselves; idiots in the region just suddenly decided out of nowhere that they wanted to panic over the gas issue and fill up again and again whenever they were down to 9/10 of a tank, so we ran out faster.
I don't understand any of this behavior at all. All the stupidity surrounding me is making me want to throw up, and I want to punch somebody in the face whenever someone asks when CONGRESS is going to do something about gas prices. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

Maybe they fear the great depression where fuel was limited. Considering that the stocks fell 777 points some time ago, when the bill for 700 billion to bail out the stock market, did not pass. It's just a theory but people there are starting to understand conserving resources when they need them most. _________________ forever shall i be a dragon friend even though i have not met one. forever let the dragons live free |

The Atlanta gas troubles were in swing before the financial crisis hit it's current level of obnoxiousness, around the time of the hurricanes as I recall. If you think about it too, they're not "conserving" because if they were, they would've been running to the gas station when they were "down to 9/10 of a tank." What I'm curious about is if they felt a shortage was a probability, why they didn't start pump rationing like they did during the gas crisis of the 70s or 80s. _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

i just found out how to get free fuel.. without stealing anything.. you will need to modify your car a bit so nothing rusts and you gotta keep it running and not sit there for a long time... it's called hydrogen fuel for carborated fuel systems... just go get a carb. that is able to take propane fuel and connect it to your car.. then you can make the hydrogen from your own house.. free fuel man.. hydrogen ran engin... with some modifications. _________________ forever shall i be a dragon friend even though i have not met one. forever let the dragons live free |
