Not necessarily. Consider the Greek gods. Filled with all sorts of weaknesses.

True enough, but they also weren't hiding themselves for fear of being defeated by their worshipers. If anything, it's more like Cronus, who devoured those who became the gods for fear that one of them would rise against him (and of course, Zeus escaped that fate and did just that).

The thing is that gods don't have to be perfect beings that have no emotions and such. And to tell the truth, "gods" are just what we call these beings. We don't even know if they are truly gods or not. Also, when the gods have human-like traits, then more people would we willing to follow them. Besides, why can't the gods have weaknesses? It's not a rule set in stone, you know.

That's a rather interesting statement. You'd accept something a a god even if they weren't one? What's your criteria for calling something a god? To me, it would take more than just a powerful or advanced creature, and certainly more than that creature's say-so.

I agree. It would have to have some sort of jurisdiction over a mass of lives at least for me to consider a being a god.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Consider the possibility of a technologically advanced race visiting the Earth and claiming to be gods. If the technology is far along enough we would have no way to disprove their claim.

Food for thought...

My description for what a god is runs something along the lines of a spirit guide to a collective which sustains itself through the faith of said collective. Not the ideal setup for me personally, but most other people take comfort in having a common subject of faith.

There is something called Draconic Wicca. I first heard of the name when I was actually looking for a dragon name to be put on my Senior Jersey (in the end I chose Apalala). I came across a strange anglefire site. Apparently from what I heard from the local Wiccan of another forum I go to (J'Karrah for those who know her) said there is information on the site that is from hers and many other sites (so technically the site I found was a copyright infringement of sites all in one without saying where they got the information.

Anyway, here is the site. http://www.angelfire.com/sd/shedevil/Dragonpath.html

I personally don't believe it. I am only trying to walk a path of Paganism and Christianity, Draconic Wicca is just weird to me. But I think J'Karrah follows it.

Aren't paganism and christianity... rather mutually exclusive?
