As in what are you doing at this time of year. Are you getting ready to visit loved ones, getting gifts for those you care for. Are you putting up the decorations for all to see. How is your holiday going at this time of year.
As of now I am passing through Burbank IL heading to Chicago to see Amy Lee in solo. Along the way I see all these beautiful lights, and colors. Absolutly breath taking. The kindness I see of most people this time of year makes you wonder why all this hate is forced upon our plate.
Makes it all worth while, the journy I am taking. Once I am done here perhaps I shall go to New Jersey to visit my brother. It has been a couple years since we've seen each other. _________________ never again will i look back in vain

I'm making gifts for people of exotic wood, and hoping that we don't entertain company on Christmas day since company is never fun. :P I personally find that I'm somewhat less enthusiastic about the holidays because I see no reason why people ought to be nicer now than they are the rest of the year. If you're going to be kind because it's "the holidays," that's like saying you're not doing it for its own sake. I don't care whether they do it or not but it seems false to me if they do it solely because of the time of year. *shrugs*
Oh, and I think this should be in general discussions, not Dragon Laughs. _________________ Happy Fourth of July everybody! The funniest thing about this signature is that I wrote it on the fourth of July, 2010, and it's probably going to be here for several months. |

I'm heading out to Omaha Nebraska to visit my sister's dad' parents and family for Christmas which I am very close with for I have known them since before she was born. Hopefully we'll get to do some skiing and hunting while we're down there.
I can't stand large crowds or overcrowded areas. I prefer my solitude with the few that I enjoy it with and it is very hard for me to put up a "happy" attitude when we my family is all together. They get upset when I'm never around but I don't think they understand that I can't stand being with too many people, it feels like my head will explode and I just end up getting mad at every one for no reason. So the holiday season has lately turned into my least favorite season since there is the snow (kind've hard to go skateboarding and BMXing in 10" of it), all of this "holly jolly" crap, and the large groups of family that I am stuck around. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. After fretting about it for a bit (and realizing it's been far too long since I had a real vacation), I'm taking off most of next week and all of the week after so I can spend it at home with my parents and brother. I don't have many plans other than the usual family traditions.
Christmas eve we always eat out at McDonalds, before "Santa visits" (my poor dad, he still dresses up in the Santa suit as a family joke so we get some presents early), and open the christmas stockings. Christmas we open presents and have a nice dinner. The day after my mom and I go shopping for half price giftsets and christmas lights.
The main change this year will be on New Year's Eve. That also happens to be my mom's birthday, and this year she'll be turning 60 (which she whines about then turns around and is excited because of all the senior discounts she can get). To really be over the top about it, my dad decided we should get her 60 presents, 20 each from dad, brother, and I. Some are small, some are big, some are serious and some are funny, but hopefully it'll be one for great memories.
I am soooooo looking forward to the time off. (as evidenced by the fact I just signed out instead of hitting "submit") _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

O_o Ouch... You don't have any hapless teaching assistants to help you with the grading? (You teach at the University level, right Syrobe?) _________________ "People who are easily offended need to be offended more often."

I'm working as well as having Steph and her family over a few days before the 25th. Other then that, I'm just staying home. _________________ "Don't mind the tail, he has a mind of his own..." |
