And here's another fun story
| Quote: |
| A one-eyed documentary filmmaker is preparing to work with a video camera concealed inside a prosthetic eye, hoping to secretly record people for a project commenting on the global spread of surveillance cameras. |
I almost want one, but at this point, it'd mean sacrificing a mostly functional (my vision's pretty bad without corrections) eye. If I ever lost an eye, however, it sounds like something that'd be extremely fun to have. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

*cant stop laughing* The vampire thing was great. And that's what my gang would have said, too, Ragnarok. Of course, we might have had to say that through busting a gut.
And if I ever lose an eye, I totally want a video camera put in. That would be awesome! _________________ The salmon sisters: bringers of justice, harbingers of the smelly fish <* )) ><

The closest I know of personally is when a bunch of preppy jock fundamentalists among the student body at my high school decided that I was "possessed" by something "inhuman" (both the literal and common metaphorical meaning), and they sometimes tried to bring things to me at lunchtime in the hopes of "exorcising" me. On Draconomicon, I actually made a comprehensive list of things they tried using, but it's probably long gone by now and unfortunately I don't remember it. Let's see... there were tons of holy books, there was a cell-phone, there was a can Pepsi One (which to their credit WOULD actually freak out and possibly outrage a lot of people here in Atlanta), and I can't recall anything else.
As for the camera thing, it makes me think of Mad-Eye Moody. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

I'm on a roll!
Google's announced a new app for Gmail: Gmail Autopilot
http://mail.google.com/mail/help/autopilot/index.html
And yes, it's their April Fool's Day joke. I wonder how many people will only catch on after quoting my post and actually seeing what I wrote in really fine (and white, to boot!) print at the bottom. No shame in that, just respond with a lol. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |

That vampire thing was very interesting.
After reasing the article, it does seem to be a bit like a cover-up. It makes me wonder... |

I'm sure most people here will remember my gun rant. Well, this's now a bit of a step up, and as inconceiveable as I'm sure it seems, it involves someone who's even MORE stupid than the state I live in.
N. Korea warns Japan against targeting rocket
Mom said aptly that she finds Kim Jong Il to be something akin to the "Mouse That Roared", and at first glance anyone who wasn't already familiar with his idiocy would think this was some sort of prank pertaining to the date. But it isn't. And the title isn't making some sort of joke either, the tone of the message from North Korea at Japan really is "Don't you dare shoot down this nuclear missile we're considering firing at you, or else you'll be really sorry!"
It's almost kinda surreal, isn't it? Just when I think I've FINALLY trained myself to stop underestimating the potential for human stupidity, some new thing comes along and steps it up a notch, revealing to me, yet again, that I had secretly STILL thought there were some limits somewhere. Maybe this will help me retain my grasp on that simple truth. Possibly. Hopefully. ...............Probly not.
So Mr. Il, assuming that our intelligence reports didn't actually put the word "missile" in quotation marks and that this is all literal, what exactly do you intend to do if Japan decides they don't appreciate the gesture and blow the darn thing up in the sky? Will you get serious and bring out the heavy artillery? Oh wait, YOU CAN'T! Silly me. Please get off the podium, walk into the Pacific Ocean without any breathing apparatus, and kindly don't emerge. Kthxbai. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

The rocket doesn't have a nuclear warhead, nor is it aimed at Japan. Yes, having North Korea fire something that could be used in the development of an ICBM is somewhat troubling, but we already know that they have long-range rockets, and that if they really wanted to, they already have the means to tear Japan to shreds (provided, of course, that they don't mind the armed response that will inevitably follow, but that's a whole different story). They don't need this to do it.
Besides, as your own article states:
| Quote: |
| While the sources did not know for sure what the payload is, they did say there is no reason to doubt it is a satellite as indicated by North Korea. |
So let them put their satellite up. Shooting it down, with no evidence that it's anything other than a satellite is just begging for trouble.
------------------------------------------------------------
And finally, for the item that I actually came here to post:
Warning, not for the squeamish.
Kinda creepy, the things that can sneak in to aquariums. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |
