|

I don't know how many people out there get this but I constantly have this static-like buzzing/ringing in my ears and when everything is completely silent it gets really loud but the moment a noise is made it silences only to come back right after the noise has gone. Also it gets really loud when a TV is turned on. I can tell a TV is on even when the screen is blank and on mute.
I don't know what causes this but I have a couple unpractical theories.
One is that some of us are born with a telepathic ability but with all the radio waves passing through the air there is soo much static that it makes it impossible to communicate as such. So instead of being able to pick up other beings' thoughts all we're picking up is the overwhelming amount of static from countless radio waves.
Another derives from the novel series Heart's Blood. Where you've got a telepathic ability but there's something in the water that is creating this static blockage.
I don't know. Perhaps I'm just loony but this has been bugging me for a while now and I just felt that I finally needed to say something about it. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. Perhaps it is do to the fact that we as otherkin have a greater hearing then that of the average human. _________________ The blood of that which you beleive run deep within, if you feel this then there is no need to doubt. |

Being an otherkin doesn't make you special in a physical way..
If you hear a constant whistle, it could be that your ear has been damaged by loud noise. I'd go to a doctor to check it out to be certain though.
I'm pretty sure that no human can pick up any radio waves with their mind. There is nothing in the brain that can translate this information. Think of it as infrared, it's definitely there, but your eyes can't pick it up. |

Well the funny thing is I scored %125 on my last hearing test. My hearing is a lot more sensitive than a normal person's and I actually can't stand loud noises. My music is usually only turned up half way to where I still can understand the person in front of me. So my hearing is by no means damaged although I thank you for your concerns. And that doesn't explain why I can hear that a TV is on even though the screen is black as if its off and its on mute.
But at least I'm not the only one who has this. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. My wings carry me upon the winds. Above lies heaven, below hell. Yet I must land in hell to soar in heaven. I am a Dragon! |

It is a perfectly normal thing. Everyone I know gets them everyonce in awhile. Or if your like me who suffered damage to an ear. (But I hear still fine) The sound can be quite frequient..... and very irritating. _________________ "24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not."

Well, I've had that since I was a little kid, and I don't think I was exposed to TOO much noise at that time. Its intensity tends to be pretty variable, but it correlates pretty well to how much I listen to my iPod. I've always just assumed that I screwed my ears up at some point.
And after looking into it, I think I found why. Ear infections can cause it, and I had those a lot as a kid.

Damage isn't only caused by mind-blowingly loud sounds. Long term exposure to even medium intensity sound can do it too. Or, like me, maybe there's another causal factor somewhere in your history.
After checking a little more, even 90dB - slightly more than busy street traffic - damage is only a matter of exposure time.

Many electronic devices do emit a high-pitched whine. That's probably what you're hearing. As for why others can't, well, as people age, their ability to hear high pitch noises declines. That's probably it. _________________ To win against an opponent stronger than yourself, you must not be weaker than that opponent. - Takamachi Nanoha |
