I heard some where (can't remember where d'oh! ) that Temeraire was going to be made into a film by Peter Jackson (I think) has anyone else heard of this?
I would really like to know if this is true cause I would love to watch it.
Thanks Very Happy

Well unfortunately with most books that are made into movies they are quite dissapointing. One of my favorite series made by Christopher Paolini, they made Eragon into a movie and I still can't get over how they screwed up. Skipping 3/4 of the journey, getting a bunch of the facts backwards, and making Saphira look like something mixed between an eagle and a lizard.

If they ever do they better do it right is all I have to say for now.

Sadly that is true of almost ant novel to movie/ miniseries adaptations, If you enjoy the book you may want to see the movie.... I'm not going onto this rant again, but at the cost of sounding like a completely lame pessimist, such things tend to be incredibly disappointing, often to an extreme degree...

But back on subject; I have heard nothing, and seen no teasers. Then again I do not watch a lot of TV, and don't get to the movies all that often ( can't splurge like that all the time when there are bills to pay). So I do not see much in the way over those media outlets. Haven't seen anything in the magazines I tend to read either, then again, the ones i really enjoy are not those that would likely carry such information.

I agree with you both on that films never do the books justice, they never explain all of it and you need to read the book to understand what was going on sometimes.

Although I personally think Lord of the Rings is a great film adaptation. Applause

Maybe it was a rumor and I did only hear it once, so and it was a while ago.

It would make a good film if they got it right, which is a very rare thing.

They are planning to make this film, yes. I have heard about it, and I'm eager to watch it, even though film adaptations are usually not that great...
So far, there is nothing official yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if they announced it this summer.

They are going to make Temeraire into a film! It's been confirmed. Check IMDB it's right there! I just hope the movie's better than the book. The books were a bit boring. I mean I enjoyed them, but I wished she fokused on Temeraire rather than Lauwrence. I would have loved to have seen Temeraire court that female. And then I felt the plot for book two was a bit dissapointing. I was expecting something shocking and was very confused at who the culprit was and the dangerous throne plot or something. I haven't read the other books but I want to. But I was still a bit dissapointed that the fokus isn't on Temeraire. I hope that Peter Jackson will add more character to the entire story.
