|

I'm confused, and I don't know if I am or not. I definitely do not think that I am/was a dragon...it just doesn't seem to fit. However, I still love dragons..
I have speculated about two others imparticular: vampire (is that even considered otherkin?) and were-cat.
My questions for you are:
1.) How do you know that you are an otherkin? (signs, how did you identify what kind, etc.)
2.) What are all the possibilities? I mean to say, what "kinds" are there?
I dunno. I guess I am just eager to explain some of the not-so-normal-at-all things about me. =/
I would really appreciate the help. Thanks! |

Some people can tell through visions when dreaming, or even when they're awake. For some others it could be a gut feeling. Everyone is different and there are many other ways of knowing your kin. Meditation is technique you could use to find your true self.

The possibilities are endless. The probabilities can be from an other world creature humans have yet to discover to a rodent exsisting on Earth now.

The passion for dragons may not always mean you are a dragon. Don't trick yourself into believing you're something you're not, that would only lead to a shattered heart of false hope. The mind is complicated and naive, don't believe you're something because you love something. Believe because you know you are. I have a passion for white roses and thorns, but that doesn't mean I was once such a harmful beauty. _________________ Blessings |

Serenity answered the first one clearer than I ever could have and I don't think you're going to necessarily like my response to the first question.
Unfortunately unless you know a legitimate psychic that can tell these kinds of things (which would be a rare thing indeed), the only person that can tell you who and what you are is yourself. Your subconscious could probably be trying to tell you what you want to know. You just need to learn to listen and again that is something that you must learn yourself. Meditation may help but it's different person to person, which is why we really can't give you any solid legitimate answers.

1. For me, it took years of prodding at feelings and suspicions I had, analyzing any 'memories' I discovered, and meditating to the best of my ability. From all of that, I think I've managed to piece together what I am/was and whatnot. I still doubt myself at times, and can easily point out things that may have influenced my awakening as a 'dragon'kin, but some things still seem to fit. However, the likelihood of any of it being verified by another are slim to none.
Further along this line, it's considered highly questionable if someone else tells you that you're 'kin or a specific kind of 'kin, no matter how reputedly 'legitimate' they may be. You're the one with possible feelings/memories, and otherkin'ness doesn't always manifest perceptibly.
2. All the possibilities? Just about anything you can imagine, I guess. Heck, I knew someone who believed they were a reincarnated sentient soundboard/combine harvester. c.c Take that as you will.
As far as I know, vampirism is more of a condition than a kin-type. I'm no expert, though. |

I don't understand how I "know" that my draconity is real, but something about my flashbacks seemed different from other typical dreams that I've had about random stuff. Once my rational side kicks in of course, I then cut out the "knowledge" label and replace it with "sufficient certainty".

The number of different possible kin-types is equivalent to the number of souls in the multiverse. So in other words, categorizing otherkin doesn't work out too well. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

1. One usual sign is that you feel something greater inside, feeling you're something else than a human. Then comes the way you think and act. (Feel sorry for humans, pity them, walk more beast-like way. I walk often on toes and knees slightly bended, the way dragons backlegs are posed in my opinion.) I think the way of acting and thinking shows through the time what you are. It comes to you someway in the end.
2. Limitless. Your kin can be a creature of earth or a new species. I know one who is wolfkin and one who doesn't seem to know yet his kin, but he's been into werewolfs now. _________________ Why do we avoid the rain? And to think that I was the only one that did that. Its a lot easier to jump around and walk stealthly too. But I always walked that wasy since I can remember ever walking. Always feels more natural to me that way than the traditional heelf first. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. My wings carry me upon the winds. Above lies heaven, below hell. Plenty of normal people walk like that *naturally* because of tight tendons. I do/did for that very reason. Once I worked on stretching, my heels dropped and I walk like humans are supposed to but am also comfortable on my toes.
Feeling you are superior in some ways to other humans is NOT a sign of being otherkin. Period. It simply isn't. |
