The pistol shrimp is the loudest animal in the world. By hitting it's claws together, it creates a bubble that produces sound of 200 dB when exploding. This noise can break glass, the armor of other shrimp and kill fishes in 2 meter distance.
The really freaky part: When pistol shrimp creates the bubble, a light flashes in the exploding bubble for billionth of a second. In the time the light flashes, inside the bubble generates a heat of 4700 celsius!
How hitting claws together can create light and heat so high?
