It gets REALLY scary sometimes, especially posting dreams that look fluffy, but it gets easier each time. All just a matter of putting faith in the person or site you're talking to.

And also I have found that I, on occasion, do want to dress, well not necessarily "dress up", but wear something that I can associate with being dragon in an attempt to get closer to that being I feel within.

Hence my mask in the funny pics thread. http://www.ncsos.us/sdb/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7821 Green As far as casual stuff, there's also shirts that I wear that have dragons on them.
Otherkin of course have reasons for wanting to display a particular creature. I'm not sure what reason furries have for being furries. Actually I've never thought about it before. Strange...

And there I go again ranting my personal beliefs over a thread where they don't necessarily belong d'oh! .

*head explodes yet again at seeing the words "ranting" and "don't belong" in the same sentence* >.<

I'm a furre-friendly otherkin. I've been around/drawing for the community long enough so that nothing shocks me even if I'm not a part of it Laughing

Only my ex and one open-minded friend know irl, and the only people on my msn contact list who obviously know are dragons or 'kin themselves. My mum has a suspicion, amusingly enough.

Heh heh, an old discussion indeed, one I've always loved to put my 2 cents in!

I am still not actually certain whether I'm furry, dragonkin, or both. i like to simply say both because its easier. sometimes i think there is a fine line between them, if any line at all. both groups are so broadly defined that you cant actually tell the difference. I've met furs who are spiritual and believe they are their fursona in soul, and I've met kin who just jumped on the bandwagon, only to jump off a few weeks later or have more past lives and outrageous stories (King so and so from the whatever Galaxy, Master of some overpowered magic etc) not to mention I've never actually met a fur who fursuits :3 as for all the furry-hating, most of it is just ignorance from someone who doesn't actually know any furs. Rumors and word of mouth hurts a lot of groups, especially those that are new and radically different. Sure, there are a few bad apples in the furry fandom, but so are there in every group. Trekkies and Star Wars fans have theirs, football has plenty, the Middle East had Al Quaida, Christianity had the KKK, Germany had Hitler. Yet despite those bad apples, each group itself was not bad. People just need to learn not to judge or stereotype, and be more open minded.

And lets not forget the Thereantheropes Very Happy

for the record, galadreil, furries aren't wanna-bes.
just want to put that out there, because another good
friend of mine, is a furrie -technically a scalie - who happens
to be a dragon. and this friend of mine is definently not a wanna be.
so..... yeah........

Would that by chance be Nathan?

He's pretty cool though, a little weird at times like last Halloween and the whole dragon tail thing, but then again aren't we all Laughing .
