There will never be one definite answer for this because there are so many different dragons here on this forum. I myself never saw any use for treasure and for anyone I knew it was a complete waste of time.

This actually reminds me of a thread I posted somewhere around here titled "How You View Dragons".

Galadreil is right. There are too many different dragons here, and elsewhere on the internet. Everybody is different, so it's next to impossible to find something that applies to all dragons.

The only common trait is that we decided to call whatever it is a "dragon".

The shinoar, for example, did NOT have scales, breath weapons, magic, or a desire to horde things. We were omnivorous. We did not lay eggs.

My dragon clan, the Drosh'mulduri, believe that we are the only real dragons, and that everyone else is fake. I am not entirely sure about that, but i think they might be right.

^So you're saying that the rest of us are fake? That all other dragons out there that are physically living, breathing, and flying, aren't really dragons but oversized winged lizards? So what do you call them then? What do you call the rest of us other-kin? I'm sorry but there are just too many differences in how a dragon is viewed. The Chinese call an overly large flying serpent a dragon for cyring out loud. So there is no one way to define a dragon.

I agree. So many differences and different views. For one, look at the wyrm. Basically, a giant worm with teeth, but it is considered a dragon. The wyvern, with only the accepted 4 appendages, two legs, and two wings. Then you have the western dragon, two legs, two arms, and two wings. There is the eastern dragon, two arms and two legs, no wings but with flying capability. The eastern dragons are believed to have dropped four drops of water that became the islands of Japan.

The list can continue forever. There are differences in physical appearance, temperament, personality, likes and dislikes. So no one dragon can be considered a "true" dragon as PowerIceDragon insists. Furthermore, no one trait can be nailed to all forms of dragon besides their name. So who are we to say that our dragon race/species was the only "correct" dragon, leaving all others as posers?
