me being a US Marine gives me far greater training with most infantry weapons, my personal favorites are (and i fired all of them) is the M240B with RCO, M16A4 with M203 and RCO, and the Mk 19 40mm automatic grenade launcher
and the thing with buying automatic weapons should only be reserved for active duty. reserves, former or retired military personel since they are the only ones trained with assault rfles _________________ "No hunter of the sky should end his days as prey, better to die on the wing than pinned to the ground." |

First, I must point out there are more to automatic weapons than just assault rifles.
Secondly, what about people who for one reason or another are not able to enter the military? There are people who are not allowed for medical (physical reasons, puting any mental or moral issues aside) What about law-enforcement officials? Many, if not most, of them have no military background, yet most areas give excellent firearms training. And what about collectors? Should people really not be allowed to have a gun just because they didn't or couldn't serve in the military? That seems a rather lofty ideal.
While I agree that if you have a firearm, you need the proper training to use and maintain it, no matter what type it is, you certainly do not need a military background to have that training. I know of several places where one can get training in the use of many classes of weapons, automatic weapons included. _________________ May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead.

As of right now, I have fired all of ONE firearm, and I was too young at the time for me to currently remember, so I cannot speculate as to what I prefer in terms of firearms.
And, um, I'm not being drafted into the Army, I'm enlisting in Marine Corps, but anyway... :P My guess, of course, is the M16 assault rifle, but like I said I have no idea about that just yet.
On a semi-offtopic note, as far as non-firearm weapons go, I'm going to have to say I like my body the best, because it's very, very versatile. Sure, it gets damaged easily by other weapons, and maintenance is kind of a hassle, but I can choose to either break someone's bones--elbow, fingers, and ribs are the most available a lot of the time--or get them in a joint lock while waiting for police. I can use it defensively as well as offensively, and so far nothing I've done to it--which has been a lot--has really hurt it permanently. It's a beautiful machine, really, and it can even be improved indefinitely with nothing more than exercise in its use. How many weapons can say that? Just wanted to throw out there that, as powerful and deadly as all firearms are, it's the human body pulling the trigger. _________________ Happy Fourth of July everybody! I prefer to use a Ak-47, but I'm not going to fire it, I remember once shooting a pistol. It hit me right in the face.
And since Roark is being a *censored* and just spending time on youtube I'll say it for him. Knowing him he'd try to use a sword, or some highly explosive weapon.

AKM - it is a modern AK47 but has a slower fire rate so the chamber and fully close when firing.
Sidearm, I will have to go with a 57 pistol. Smaller bullets make for less stoping power but the penitration is high.
I think I will even use these two wepons if I was to go into an alian planet, The Ak's reliability will make a great asset and the penatration of the 57 will be great for hard skined beings. _________________ Look up and if you see me don't run, I only want a hug. |
