Well here lately I have been trying to recall my dreams more often, with a bit of success, and last night I had one that I thought I would share.

Of course the main dream (as we have multiple dreams every night) was completly insane and illogical, the same as almost every other dream I can remember. It had something to do with Futurama (which I havent seen in a long while), an interdimensional rocket, and a bottle of stolen olive oil, complete with olives...wtf? The details on that one was very blurry mainly because the details changed about every five seconds.

But I also had a second dream, which was suprisingly clear and followed one normal scenario (rare in my dreams), but for some reason I only remember a small tidbit of.

I had a dream of who I am assuming was me, mainly because he looked exactly like me (except he was in slightly better shape, lol), but for some reason I couldnt see my face, as it was a veiw from behind...and when it was a front veiw my face was in shadows. But anywho, I had these "gloves", but they werent really gloves, they were the hands and feet of a dragon, and they were on my hands and feet. And although I was amazed of them, I could hear the logical side of me saying it was not right. After that I fought to remove them, but they tightened on me, and I couldnt get them off...and although I really didnt want them gone I felt for some reason they had to go. The color was red and the claws were silver, if any of that matters.

As for the setting I was sitting on a cliff and the sky was dusk...but I dont know if that really matters. I just thought I would share that with you.

I am beginning to wonder what I might find if I can start remembering my dreams...

Oh do I love to interpret dreams Very Happy .

The first I believe is irrelevant to anything more than a prelude and random subconscious thoughts as you were entering the deep REM sleep.

But to the meat of things. I usually like to take things in separate pieces and point out their symbols, meanings, and piece it together into one whole message. In this case that first part of dissection for me is next to impossible, so I'll take this as a whole and tell you what I think of it.

You're having a bit of an internal struggle between otherkinism and logic. It appears that you were aware of the dream, which makes all the difference because your conscious mind obviously sides with logic. With what you've said in the past, it's obvious you're unwilling to accept otherkinism as truth with no definitive notion/evidence. In your dream you struggled to remove the dragon paws from what should have been your hands and feet, failing to do so. The dragon paws could be a sign that there is indeed "a dragon within." Your logical side said that's not possible, but I bet there was that little voice (like a conscious that tells you what you're doing isn't right) that said that it wants to come out. It could be that you've kept this blocked for so long and now that you've opened up about it, it's trying to tell you that it's there and not going away.

As strange and absurd as my interpretation is, that's how I see it. Everyone can have a separate interpretation for a simple dream but that's my view on it.

I believe that dreams are a way of the mind to order its thoughts, to get new or old insights, and to cope with emotions, beliefs or basically anything that has to do with the psyche.
Dream interpretations are far from exact, but I think dreams do play a very important role.

My theory isn't that different from Galadreil's. I think that the second dream (which I think is the most important) represents your struggle with otherkinism and logic. Perhaps there is a part in you that thinks otherkinism is right, and you try to crush it with logic, but ultimately fail to do so. I think it's an ongoing struggle, one that confuses you.

Of course, I could be very wrong and this is nothing but a random dream, but still...

The best person to interpret your dream is ultimately you. We can give insights, but the dream was made up by your mind, and minds have been known to work differently for everybody.

Here is where I butt in. Laughing

I have to go with both of you on this...Even though I'm having trouble myself...But that doesn't matter right now.

Dreams, I've had plenty that were strange, (You watch Futurama??? Nice. Smile ) and, yes, a bit has been from struggles, as others like, visions, feelings, etc...I have had what I call a "Conflict" dream, it was odd enough though...

I remember it a bit clear...A figure, a dragon, standing in a cave, in my backyard. Laughing I walk up to it and it asks if I "want to go home." I say, "I AM home..." But he just snorts and points at the night sky, outside the cave, and something in me says, "Say yes!" Another, "You ARE home stay here." And it blurred and became me sitting with my grandpa holding a spider talking to it. Laughing

My theory is, I'm struggling with something, but don't know what exactly yet...

(I would like insight from someone (Anyone xD) if they can spare.)

Oddly enough that dream was by itself though...and the other odd thing is that on that night for some strange reason I felt like sleeping with my window open, then I had that dream.

The only reason I attributed anything to it was because:
1) The structure of the dream was completly unlike any I have had since...well actually its the first calm dream I have had. Almost all of the dreams I have had contained almost no logical plot to speak of, and normally carried a humorous backdrop.

2) This is also the first dream I have had on the topic. Dragons have only occasionally crossed my mind in dreams, and even when they do they are quickly booted or pushed out of the dream, and Ive never had one in it long enough to have any sort of interaction with it. The fact that in this dream the dragon theme was not only present but actually attached to me was...unusual.

In addition the next night (the night after the dream) I couldnt remember for what I dreamed, which is the same as what happens almost every night.

After that I googled it and it said that in the case of reoccuring dreams (and nightmares) sometimes the brain will block dream recall almost completley to avoid dealing with the stress, so im starting to wonder if I might be having reoccuring dreams without my knowledge, since I cant remember what Im dreaming to begin with 99% of the time. I think the only reason I caught that one is because I had to wake up earlier that day...is there something going on in my subconsious that Im unaware of?

I slept with it closed again yesterday, but I think Im going to sleep with the window open again tonight to see what happens.

I can tell you for a fact Chris, that there is a lot your subconscious mind is doing that you don't know about. Partially as a defense and partially because of what I mentioned through messenger, you've put up that defense, blocked out those unhappy memories/thoughts and put a better light to them, but now that the danger that caused you to put up that defense is gone, it's now become a barrier and your subconscious mind still thinks that it needs that barrier. You may "feel" happy, you may "feel" safe, but there's still a part of you that's unsure and afraid. You aren't, but a part of you is, and that part of you (dare I say what?) may have noticed your curiosity and search for answers and is trying to tell you, but you've still got that barrier up.

I suggest meditation. It relaxes both the body and mind and may help. Dropping that barrier won't confirm your fear, you're a cool guy and so far pretty fun to hang with on PWI, that won't change, you won't change, but your understanding of what you've been feeling will and for the better, have faith in us, in me, my advice hasn't steered anyone wrong yet and I know it wont here . Wink

I dont feel like they're unhappy thoughts though, I feel it has more to do with the illogical bit as a whole.

Also I slept with my window open again and dreamed I was trying to attach a snake to myself, but I only have a split second memory of it.

Anyone else have any related experiences?

Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. Snakes also represent healing, transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It is indicative of self-renewal and positive changes. But trying to attach it to yourself Think .....that part puzzles me.

One way I think that could be interpretted is that you obviously have things going on within that you either don't know about or don't understand and to gain that knowledge will require some positive changes (that barrier being lifted?)

Another way I think the dream could be interpretted is that again, there is obviously things you don't understand/know about, and you're trying to remedy that but can't quite figure out how.

A dream like this is quite hard for me to interpret but I've done the best I can. In any case I believe that something within your subconscious is trying to get a point across and now that you're finally taking notice it's trying to help. Continue with the dream logs in here.

And try meditation! It may seem goofy and weird but I can tell you have a serious problem with relaxing. There are plenty of guides and theories on how it should be done, but the bottom line would be do it somewhere quiet, calm, and where you're comfortable. Sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes, control your breathing, in through the nose and out the mouth. Make a rythym and continue it. Slowly your mind and body begin to relax, and (I've had this happen on the rare occasion, as well as my first attempt) something might happen. Don't expect it, don't force it, try to have as an empty mind as possible, but at least give it a try Wink .
