In actuality I don't believe that it would, we would just find other ways to hurt and kill. It would be a whole new ball game.

(MOD: Thread moved. Please post threads in an appropriate area)
The sad fact is that existence begets conflict, which in turn leads to violence. Violence leads to weapons being developed to ensure victory over the enemy, and in turn the enemy is driven to develop more effective and destructive tools of war, which in turn leads to a developmental cold war as each side makes newer and more frightening weapons, until both sides are afraid to use them.
Wiping the slate clean just means that we start with the stick and move back up from there, nothing more. In their current state, humanity and the Earth itself will not be rid of violence or the conflict that causes it. _________________ May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead.

You can't get rid of all weapons without getting rid of all humans. That is the simple fact of reality. Every invention we've ever created is a weapon. Well... um, not EVERY invention, but just about. Take away the guns, and you'll have people modifying common items that do the same thing into guns. Take away knives used as weapons, people will use hunting knives, kitchen knives, even butterknives. And as Dark said, even if you wipe it all clean, we start with the stick. I dare you to get rid of every single thing on the planet that can be used as a weapon, or can be modified to be used as one. We'll be left with things like... at the moment, I can think of only small rubber objects that can't be used as weapons or modified into them. But maybe I'm not being imaginative enough.
What I'm trying to say is if you made it impossible to kill other people, you'd make it impossible to survive. So since everyone already knows that we'll always want to kill other people, there's no way to stop violence. _________________ Happy Fourth of July everybody! Small rubbery objects used as weapons:
Shoved down the throat.
Poke an eye.
Etc...
Dirt is a weapon if used right. So, you would have to wipe EVERYTHING away.

If humanity is to survive, we need either some tools to grow plants and herd animals, or weapons to hunt. Tools can be always modified and used as weapons.
Anyway, even certain apes wage kind of "war" (two groups attacking each other without any obvious purpose). It is not only about the tools and weapons: it is our aggresivity that allows us to survive and move on. Remove it and you have removed a human.
Conclusion of what I and others said: even if it could be done, it would not work. I really wish it would, but such are the facts. It would however scale the conflicts down-it is impossible to repeat Hiroshima using your fists, unless you are Chuck Norris. However, how many people would die because of diseases that could not be cured, because the necessary drugs are lethal in bigger concentrations and therefore usable as weapons? _________________ If you can fill the unforgiving minute

If anyone ever finds themselves in the position to simply remove every object in the known universe labelled as, or capable of being, a weapon from existence, then why not just use that power to cure cancer, AIDs, and every known mental illness, solve world hunger, and ensure that ever human being born unto this world gets a good education?
Personally that looks like a more sound investment of such a divine power. _________________ "Your toast has been burned, and no amount of scraping can remove the black parts!" ~ Caboose
