Dragons are known to roar. (Just like in my sig.) What is the whole point of roaring? What I know? It used to scare people, express their anger, and to let each other where they are.

The same reason a dog barks/growls/howls. Warn away threats, mourn, sing (obviously not in out way), challenge, play. Pretty simple really.

I believe they'll roar for any reason that provokes extreme emotion, sadness, anger, happiness, and pride are the biggest factors.

Yeah, I'd say something like that. I think it would be a means of self-expression. Like music and singing is for humans, roaring for dragons could be used as an emotional expression (along with more angry/angressive intentions).
I'd say that if I had the ability to roar, it would be awesome to be able to just let out a cry of anger/pride/happiness when I felt it.

It could also be used to call someone a bit out of range. Even in this life i have various non-word vocalisations that mean different things. My boyfriend knows most of the meanings, but it took him a while to learn the difference between a growl and a purr Laughing

I guess that it is all of the above answers, but roaring is also a sign of marking territory. Male dragons tend to roar to show their strength and scare away rival dragons, and females are more likely to roar when protecting their young for instance.
