More than likely, the communicated with a vearity of sounds, i.e. roars, growls, snarls (Barring an actual, sophisticated language like our human tongues). Since many dragons interpretations cannot speak in the traditional sense, this is a good explainations, since most species communicate in this way.

| It depends entirely upon the species. Some were little more intelligent than a crocodile, others on par with dogs and yet others were equivalent to humans. There's a huge range. |

Like Shiari sayd, it depends on the species, but if I had to hazard a guess, it would be mostly noises, their own language, and body language.
My species were pretty intelligent, we had a complex social "structure". There were of course a lot of solitary individuals, as we were, as a species, not really a social bunch. But families did stay together. I digress..
If I have interpreted my dreams correctly, than we communicated using body language and noises. |

I have to agree with Namhias as well. Though I can't help but to wonder if there was some sort of mental communication as well according to the dream I was still in the egg. In that sense I was able to feel love from my mother even though I couldn't hear or see her. Though on the rest your description is pretty much right on the spot.

Through telepathy mainly, I think...
Dragons also have this sort of dreamworld they can exist in (might be within the astral plane but I think it is something different). |

Telepathy, mindspeak, mental communication, there's a few terms for it. But to what degree does it go? Is it in words? Or can it be in words? Is it a whole different language on its own that cannot be put into words?

Mentally? It could mean they have their own language, or, like Gal, share emotions and maybe what each other sees...
I'm rambling too...
