I probably am, but that's beside the point.

I have distinct memories/dreams/inklings of being a dragon either in past lives or concurrently in a parallel universe (or both).

Like most all of who "I" is in dragon form except for on the physical plane.

I'm guessing that stuff like this is what everyone means by "otherkin", or maybe I have weirder ideas...

Anyone else think similar stuff? Anxious

so to express both sides of this...

To be completely rational about it we (by that I mean almost all that consider themselves kin) could all very well be possessed of varying degrees of delusion. but then again so could any body who believes whole heatedly in the existence or one of more higher beings

Yes many kin feel drawn strongly to their kin self/form. Many have vivid dreams inexplicable "memories" and visions of being whatever creature they associate/ identify with as kin.

for example the "forms" for a lack of better terms I feel most akin to area A feline shape changer (possibly demonic). and dragon.

I would get from time to time Very vivid dreams and visions of being in these"shapes" but all i have to go on is how it felt. these were vivid to the point of coming to in extreme pain after receiving injuries in said visions. and from time to time coming to with the taste of blood coating my mouth... and having it linger after brushing my teeth again after injuries occurred in the "dream" or after I had taken down prey...

Some here consider some if not all aspects of their their kin identification to be more like totem spirits. To others they are reincarnates. To yet others believe they should have been born into a different body, or in a different time, place/universe/ dimension so consequentially the "shape of their soul", so to speak, is completely at odds with the body they have here and now.

Other do not have these dreams but experiences throughout their lives experience the sensation that their bodies are just all the wrong shape and size, even to the extent of perceiving the (nonphysical) existence of body parts that simply are not there.

Yes there are some here who think, feel, and believe similar things. Yes when they use the term "other-kin" that is what are referring to.

Again though there are a few different takes on it. It is up to you to define what the term truly means to you. As to whether or not you are completely crazy... well that is entirely up you and how you wish to identify yourself.

Well if you're talking about the different planes of the universe, Shomti (AKA SkieFireYokana) will be able to go very in depth.

I'll start off with you being crazy. Odds are you're not. I find most of us who believe ourselves to be otherkin are more sane than the average person, because we refuse to let a systematized religion rule our lives when we know there's something else to us.

Now there are more than just dragons among us here on this site. I count myself as one of them but there are also wolves and a few others (I do apologize for not remembering). But how we believe varies, in some cases quite dramatically. But I'll leave that to each individual who wishes to tell their side.

I have had two dreams that I would count as visions into my past life. One of which was last year and then the first a few years before that. I can go in depth through PM if you wish but that's off topic for here so I wont get into here.

Aaaah, I remember feeling crazy.

I know how you feel for sure, pronouncing yourself as otherkin is a very big step, but in the end it all comes down to how you feel.

It isnt easy though to come to grips with such an 'out there' idea, and I know because I just accepted myself as otherkin about 1-2 months ago, and I was/still am a very skeptical see-to-beleive kind of person...so yeah that was fun. If you like, you can add me on msn at conlor_243@hotmail.com or whatever other messaging system you have, and I will be happy to answer your specific questions from there, and tell you my story if it will help.

Hey, don't feel like you're crazy. Unless you labeled yourself that...

Point being, at least most otherkin have gone through the "Crazy" feeling. I locked myself in my room for a week, except to eat/bathroom/and other bodily needs. I only just decided myself otherkin about a month ago. Yes, we know how you feel. Wink Or at least most of us...

P.S. Read my signature, last line. Laughing

To answer your question, yes. I do think similar stuff, as do most others here I think.
I think Zahz sums it up pretty nicely. There is of course a whole spectrum of variations to what she said, but otherkinism is a very personal belief system. What that means for me personal, in short, is that I think that I was a dragon in a previous incarnation, and I feel as though this body is the wrong one. I'm sure that if you ask everybody what they believe, they'll all give different answers.
Your last emoticon suggests that you feel uncertain about asking questions such as these. If I'm wrong, I apologize, but if you are, I can assure you that we'll answer all your questions. That's what these boards are for.
Having a different belief system doesn't make you crazy. Galadreil made an excellent point.

...And Daragon, be polite.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy ever minute of it!

Sometimes crazy is just what we need. That is why this place exists. So that you are not alone.

Otherkin and those that communicate with otherkin are truly in touch with their souls. And true peace is to know that you know that you know what you know.
