Not acusing anybody of this but its some good advice. something you should never do is abuse things smaller than you. as dragons abuse to smaller creatures is a big no no I have two simese fighting fish never abused them once in the whole life I have had them for three years now. But I promise you that if you help animals or have pets and never abuse them they can be powerful alies in the spiritual life. one thing to remember is that there is no scale when it comes to the void or space there is always somthing bigger or smaller than you If you abuse somthing in this life It could bite you in the tail. _________________ (sneek whispers) troubles on its way... |

Define abuse. Also, I doubt that animals with brains less than a third the size of my own--most of which is used simply for subconscious tasks--can be helpers in my "spiritual life". As far as I'm concerned, there's very little by way of thought in their heads. It's very basic, and not that great for communication, especially with cats because they're not social creatures. Fish have tiny brains and I don't trust them to have anything more than instincts guiding their bodies.
Also, yeah, sure, there are always things bigger or smaller than me, but that's just because I'm on neither end of the scale, and as things get smaller they stop mattering. Who cares about a virus? How about a sugar molecule? An atom? A quark? A string (in the physics sense)? Similarly, in the opposite direction (assuming there are no god(s) because there's not any evidence to believe there are, or at least that they interfere in our business) it doesn't seem that the largest things in the universe matter to us either. Long as they stay out of our way, who cares about extremely large (500+ solar mass) stars? Black holes? Nebulae? The universe? Well, I guess you don't want the universe to go away, but that's just because we're in it. What about the next one over? Does it matter to you if it stops existing?
I'd rather be nice to my pets because it's the right thing rather than because someone tells me that there are untold horrors breathing down my neck in case I don't.
One last question... what evidence have you got to back up your "promise" that pets will be powerful allies in my spiritual life as long as I remember to feed them? So far, my spiritual life (the details of which shall remain private) has been helped in no way, significant or otherwise, by any of my pets dead or alive. And I was even pretty nice to some of them. _________________ Happy Fourth of July everybody! Dolphins have the smallest brain in the world and are the smartest animal. Monkeys have tiny brains too, and their intelligence almost matches the intelligence of humans.
You're not looking right at all. In this case, size doesn't matter. _________________ The evidence so far outways the reasoning prooving beyond a reasonable doubt that everything you've been told and seen is true and real. Oh yeah, I'M A GIRL! |

Heh. Unfortunately, dolphins and monkeys are all too prone to causing great amounts of harm to other animals unable to defend themselves. Incidents I've read about regarding dolphins killing porpoises for literally no reason almost completely discredit my older theory about hatred being an exclusively human emotion.
Even with that out of the question, it's still a sad fact that we have to kill other living things every day either for sustenance (or at least benefit from their deaths) or for self-defense (who knows how many microbes die each time you brush your teeth?). This is because resources are limited, and the animal kingdom's members are too complex to be able to sustain themselves on photosynthesis. _________________ The statement below this one is false.

Wait, WHAT? The smallest brain *in the world*? ... They have smaller brains than ants? Than gnats?
Methinks you should actually research before making such absurd claims. >_> |

I agree. Dolphins do not have smaller brains than ants. Next time, take ten seconds and go to www.google.com and click images. Then type in dolphin brains. _________________ lolling around a lot ^^ |

Methinks Grave was just trying to prove that the size of one's brain does not limit nor increases one's intelligence. _________________ Rest in Peace, Ronnie James Dio, from Mortal to God, Rest in Peace.(1942-2010) |
