Dragons colors depend on what nature they are.
Black- Shadow, dark magic, killer
Blue- Sky, water, lighthearted
Green- Earth, strong, knowledge, violent if needed
Red- fire, violent, alpha element
Just some dragons. There are thousands( but all you know that). |

I'd say this is untrue. A friend of mine has a black ct and she's very friendly, won't even kill a fly. Some birds are blue, and not all are lighthearted...believe me. Also, their are red birds, and not all are violent.
Lions are a very light color, they blend in with the grass lands. It's a very warm, neutral color, but they aren't teddy bears for sure. Wolves can vary from white to black. Wolves are wolves and wild creatures, their color does not determine their personality. And with humans as well, each human has their own pigment to their skin. Skin color does not determine our personality.
With the statements said above, I find it hard to believe that color a being is born with tells others about their personality. _________________ Blessings |

I'm going to side with serenity on that colors would not determine their nature. maybe region location could determine their colors
I think the biggest pusher that tells people that dragon are divide in color types are the D&D guys. |

I believe it genetics. The species does work, too. I think the genes of both parents effect the color. Similar to flower. A red tulip and white tulip might make a pink one. Species and Genetics seem more accurate to me. _________________ Beware. I bite! |

It's pointless to discuss whether one hypothesis on color is better than the other. They are all equally valid, all applicable in different circumstances. This also goes for claws, scales, breath etc. There are many different species out there which we lump under the label "dragon".
I think it's not a stretch to say that each dragonkin that appeared on the Net so far belongs, or belonged to, or coexists with, or feels a link to a different species of dragon. Which means at least hundreds of species.
We can only point out the possibilities, and try not to delve too deep into the realm of fantasy. |

Allaban Druegan are born with a "default color" of you will that is determined by the genetic "base color" of the family history. But by the time they have reached adolescence they develop the ability to change their coloration at will to match their environment, similar to the way various species of cephalopod do here. We use color either for camouflage or to stand out depending on the circumstances (hunting, showing off for potential mates, whim of the moment, etc). _________________ Visit my website EbonDragon Productions
