Of course ' human' fits us Namhias. We are wearing their skins aren't we? And I am not making that up. Just look in the mirror. Or maybe it is that we fit humans. Nah. That would be crazy. Oops, I guess that answers that question. _________________ From you I receive to you I give

| Take a pencil to a piece of paper, and let it make random lines. What do you see? That helps me sometimes. |

I don't think holding up the possibility of being dragonkin to whether our not you're crazy is write right. Put basically, identifying as anything other than human IS crazy. The question is whether or not it affects your ability to function on a day to day basis. Do you get so hung up on it that you don't meet your responsibilities or do anything else? If so, then it's safe to say you might not be otherkin, and instead might need to seek professional help, just as a precaution. On the other hand, if you still lead a full life while holding these crazy beliefs/thoughts, then it's time to consider that perhaps you are otherkin.
But let's be honest, people...we're all a little insane here. _________________ I use logic. Deal with it.

Sometimes I have dreams where I'm flying...it's an amazing feeling. And I suppose there are other little signs of being a dragon...like the wanting to fly bit. But I don't think I'm actually a dragon...I'm just an author who writes about dragons. I'm curious...do you guys actually think you're otherkin, or is it just fun to think you are? _________________ The Prophecy of the New Age Bk. 1: The Beginning

We wouldn't identify as dragonkin if we didn't believe it. Some of us believe we were a dragon in a past life (usually on a different planet and/or plane, since there has been no concrete evidence of dragons on this Earth to date). Others believe in a psychological or personality archetype that they feel as though they fit the mentality of, and still others have altogether different connections to dragons via being in contact with dragons or dragon-like creatures on the astral plane or through headmates (aka multiples).
I'm sure there are others who believe something other than what I have listed, and I know for a fact that there are those who only think being otherkin would be fun, and thus pretend to be something they aren't. (I and several others typically refer to those people as fluff, roleplayers, or wishkin.)
So basically, yes. We are crazy enough to believe what we're saying.
***Also, otherkin is a much broader term than dragonkin. Otherkin is basically an umbrella term that means you somehow identify as a creature other than human, whether it's spiritually, psychologically, or in some other way. There are elves, fairies, angels, etc. _________________ I use logic. Deal with it.

That's real interesting, thanks for the info Like I said, I don't really believe in that stuff, but I do love books and movies like that. So I think I'll stay on this site, because it's really interesting (again.)
Like I also said, I'm an author, albiet a new one, and this is the best site I've found to get ideas and stuff of course I'd never steal anyone's work, I'd just get ideas from other people's ideas. Form my own opinions _________________ The Prophecy of the New Age Bk. 1: The Beginning

For me, being 'dragonkin' basically means that identifying myself as a dragon mentally doesn't feel strange.
For me, I don't have spectacular memories of a past life, or dragonish dreams (Although I do sometimes have weird dreams, but that's what dreams are for). Instead, being dragonkin feels as natural to me as breathing. I feel no wish to be dragon or to be human, it's just that looking at myself, or part of my personality as 'dragon' feels correct.
I'd say that as a word of advice to anyone feeling 'otherkin': Don't try to be anything, if it feels natural it's probably for the better. |
