Umm I 'd probably just tell them. i recall back in highschool they were worried because my friends never visited and I didn't show an"interest" in others, didn't go on about dances or crushes. as far as they could tell. So they asked me strait up at the dinner table no less If I was bi, a lesbian, or just a late bloomer and assured me again and again that no matter what I was still their little girl , and that they'd love me regardless. yes that is about as tactful my family is. i'ts embarrassing sometimes. they kinda got mildly freaked out about me proclaiming I was other kin and what it meant to me though.
The did the same thing when I started exploring and expressing an interest in folklore and attending organized religion too. 
What would you do if you parents had come out and just strait up asked you about your faith, spirituality, and sexuality the way mine have?

Kinda upset really, I like my food. My kitty wouldn't be too happy either once I'd be done with her.
What would you do if you couldn't go outside in the daylight any more because the sun burned your flesh?
