How many of you have turned your bed into a nest?
I understand that the effects might be different for everybody, but if you haven't tried it, you should.
Anyway, here's what happened with me:
I have no clue why, but last night I had an urge to build a nest, a minute or two after I meditated. It's very hard to explain the urge, but I'm sure you had a feeling like that before, maybe not concerning a nest being built, but any kind of urge.
After I had built it (Took a fairly long time to get it good) I laid down on it and immediately felt the: "at home" feeling, and a part of my heart felt whole, as though my soul was content. This was the best I could explain the feeling.
As for it's effect on dreaming, I have no clue, as I still can't remember my dream, but I think it might make a difference, I haven't meditated since then because I finished the nest at about 12:30 AM. But I will soon.
I have also found 4 methods to build a nest, and I named them: "Method 1, 2, 3, and 4" I am amazingly creative. You guys might as well come up with the names. Method 1 is the easiest, 3 is the hardest, 2 is in the middle, and 4 is kinda like a hybrid. I used Method 3.
Personally, I think that after meditating, my kin may have been telling me to make it feel more like it's "home" before it will contact me with anything deep.
I encourage you all to try building a nest and see where that takes you. Post your results here and maybe share your methods of building the nest.
You can ask me to give you instructions on any of my methods through PM, but BE SURE to include the amount of blankets, pillows, and covers that you are willing to use, and I might have pics... eventually. _________________ "Don't waste your time, or time will waste you"

^ We'll see if I can get my videocamera working, or if I can borrow my friend's Ipod Nano. If not, Then I can only supply pics.
Last night, I was resting in my nest, and a female voice came out of nowhere, and said a couple words that I could not understand, They were definately not English or Spanish. After those couple words, she said "Azaraki" (As a rocky (i tried a real pronounciation guide, but it didn't work, but it sounds exactly like this).
This word connected with something in my mind, which is why I remember it. This may be my Dragon name. Although I will still meditate more to uncover:
If my Dragon name is Azaraki (gotta be sure)
If the female voice I heard was Azaraki
^ If not, who was it?
Those are the more pressing questions right now. All in all, I would say that the nest helped for me, but it would still need to be researched with a group of people. I know musKeter is probably willing to try it out. _________________ "Don't waste your time, or time will waste you"

What's wrong with just posting the instructions here, why does it have to be through PMs? _________________ I would love to have you on MSN, send me a PM with your IM account. Or not, if your that kind of person. |

For now, I'm going to try to borrow my friend's iPod so I can make a vid, but I suppose I could post instructions here, as long as I tell you the differences if you have a certain number of pillows/blankets. Once again, Video is plan A, and written out instructions as plan B.
UPDATE!
My friend WILL let me borrow his ipod Nano tomorrow at high school, I will be able to make a video tutorial for you guys!
EDIT!
But he forgot to bring his ipod... i'll harass him to remember to get it to me tomorrow _________________ "Don't waste your time, or time will waste you"

I myself have had this happen a few years ago when I was just learning of my draconity, but I have a few things that I want to point out about "nest building." Really there isn't any set way to do it and with what materials. It's whatever you make of it and whatever makes you feel most comfortable and at home. Natural instinct should take over and kinda guide you in the structure and shape of your nest so kinda just go with the flow. I'm sure you'll also feel better that you made it yourself without anybody's help and that alone gives another feeling of gratification. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. The main point of this post was only to inform those of this idea. If anything, people can at least take the guide as a little but if help.
Speaking of which, I've got the video... but the entire thing is sideways... and low volume... and basically just the worst tutorial I've ever done. I can still post it, it gives you the basic idea, but there's not much I could have done in the time period my friend will let me use the ipod, and I had nobody to be the filmer, so I had to do the entire thing with one hand, so I ended up doing the parts of it seperately.
Though Galadreyil (Galadriel?) Is right about the nature of the nest. My tutorial did not tell you every little thing that needs to be done, just how to save material and build the vertical part of the nest. I said nothing about an exact measurement of any kind, and I encouraged difference. Think of them more as tips, as I left a lot of points vague.
Keeping the very bad quality, and what Galadriel said in mind, do you guys still want me to post it, or at least wait 'til I get an actual video-camera? (might just post it and make a new version) _________________ "Don't waste your time, or time will waste you"
