I can translate what a dog is saying quite well so I don't think it'd be too hard lol. Though getting into a detailed conversation would be a bit hard. _________________ I am trapped between heaven and hell. My wings carry me upon the winds. Above lies heaven, below hell. Dogs are easy, their entire body language and vocal set has evolved to be understandable by humans. Most people can understand what a dog is trying to 'say'.
A dragon 'Language' would be... Huh, imagine.
No two dragon otherkin can even agree on what they really LOOK like. not what world/universe they are from, or even what it all MEANS to be Dragon.
yet there is a persistent desire to find some commonality, something to bind us all together...
Me, I was an animal. No vocal language more complex than that required to direct a pack to hunt, wolves have more complex language.
Body language- scent, wing posture, tail movements, facial expressions, all more important to communication than mere noise.
Your 'species' may be different, of course. But that's really my point... _________________ Prey, tell... |

I still find the idea of an "official" language ridiculous, I can make an educated guess as to what kind of language my species spoke.
I'm still not completely sure, and I don't think I ever will. However, I can guess that I spoke a language, maybe even multiple ones. Body language was really important though. I guess it depends on who you ask what kind of answer you get. |

| To answer your question, I often think that if there was a dragon language, it would be similar maybe to German. German has loads of consonents in its words. To me one would have to be a dragon to speak German. I do after all think it's a pretty neat language. Just throwing this idea out there. |

| I found a so-called "draconic language" in a book one time. There were only pretty basic words. But you COULD say "shut up". I think shut up was... Thric renthisj.... I began to learn it. I still am not actually sure its the "true" language. |

Considering the various kinds of dragons there are and the many different places we/they come from, I guarantee you, it's not the One True Language or whatever. That's not saying it isn't a valid language that works linguistically, but I'd say it's more than likely just the product of a creative and talented human mind. _________________ I use logic.
