Usually, people who like dragons love to collect the image of a dragon. Statues, pictures, or wallpaper for your phone or for your PC screen. I've never been able to see images with admiration what unknown people assume for what they are, and that's usually a stereotype. Their images are used in logos and cartoons, but is it acceptable for someone who really love's them?, and not because people want to collect cool stuff. But I never see images with gruesome dragon things such as murder or worse. I think that most people's world would collapse if they see something like that about dragons in drawings or statues what I have in mind. I can't collect this things, although I'm close with them, I find it amazing that many do that in a negative way, just to put it in their house.

That really is not necessary if you believe enough in the dragon, then you don,'t need all this fake stuff. I find the existing images too nice, too epic, and totally wrong. Most of the time it's been used by children and people who forget the dragon when they reach thirty. Faith requires no images of others.

I do think there's 1 thing you need to learn: People's reasons for doing things aren't always the same:

You might think

Act A = Feeling B + situation C
but it might as well be
Act A = Feeling D + situation Z

The outcome (collecting dragon art) might be the same, but the reasoning behind it completely different.
Simply put, the way you look at life doesn't automatically apply to others.

Also, if you don't like dragon pictures/statues, fine. But other people might like them, for totally different reasons even!

I think I know what you mean, things being pictured as perfect and people dreaming while looking at a picture. (Almost) Everyone wants a better world, and that's how they imagine it.

Most people, I guess, don't collect/make dragon art of dark things such as murder because they don't want to constantly be reminded of it, or want to look at the good side.

Dragons are not a faith to everybody. I dont LOVE dragons, rather, I identify with the species. I don't really hoard dragon art either, though. Not everyone has the deep respect for the species you do.

I sense a tone of looking down upon those who do collect dragon art. As if those people would only collect the art for their personal gain, to be cool, to have a mystic species statue. Some might, others not. Who knows.

"That really is not necessary if you believe enough in the dragon"
Nope, it's not necessary. Plenty of people do like to, though
Nor do I 'believe' in the dragon
Has it occurred to you that some people might just be dragon....fans? And not complete zealots? Very Happy

I know that some people are extremely fascinated (like myself), but they don't use it wisely. The things that are made like art and sculptures are created by strangers and the images of your art is taken out of that images what was made for commercial reasons. I don't like to compare but it's like with the Christians. "Images are nothing, faith is everything."

The question is: Can you still believe without images?

I've never seen a shocking picture or statue of a dragon, and I think that is more associated with realism.

That's not what I meant, but it is very epic and stereotype like I said. It's cool. I have seen many of these dragons and it is made for people, by people. But do you have much with this dragon? Is it a dragon or a fantasy statue? Do you have an image where the dragon bites in the neck of a helpless creature and...
Here by I stop to define because otherwise it's going too far for most people.

Dragon fanatics gather all these things but for what purpose? What is the meaning of dragons to them as they look at what is supposed to be a dragon according to people who make money out of this? And the more threatening they seem, the cooler they are for children and fanatics. And often with many horns, great wings, evil eyes and an open mouth. If you have sympathy for them or one of them, than you must understand this. Let them be for what they are and see a dragon as a dragon.

(This seems a bit extreme eh, I know)

Here's my thing about collecting dragon artwork, figurines, and whatnot. I am very very picky about what I have. The little statues I have are just standing or flying poses. The poster I have is a dragon dueling a sorcerer. The shirts I have, dragons are either flying or roaring at something. I wont have a dragon being killed sitting around in my house, nor will I have a dragon raping a women either.

"They're only making artwork of it because it's awesome." What?

There's no purpose behind collecting any of this, just as there's no purpose behind most hobbies in life.

What's "not dragon" about simply flying around? What's "not dragon" about one curling up? Why the weird dismissal of dragons not doing anything at all?

yeah Dracorian I agree that most of dragons are made in Human image, healthy strong worthy of admiration, but that is How most people Want it to be, even if we (you and me ) see the dragons in a different shade of light (at least I do because of the dream and I presume your dragon counterpart showed you his memories), it doesn't change the fact that we saw what is true to us, the statues and figurines, pics and what not is only there for us to remember, most of those are made yes to pick our admiration for them, but in all truth it is there as a reminder that we aspire something greater that we cant achieve in our lifetime

and the stuff about dragon killing humans or dragons killing dragons, I've experienced quite enough of that during my past life dream (flashback). And to tell you the truth it was gruesome and I wouldn't want to remember it whenever I saw a dragon figurine.....

Yes I still can remember the adrenaline rush during the conflict, the stench of battle and blood in my mouth, but I also remember for who it was for and why I did it.
Or even during the hunts that I took.
Some ''memories'' of our past are better left ''forgotten'' but in all truth we cant let it go, like I couldn't all this time, If all dragons I saw in this world, In this human Lifetime were corpses of other dragons, human or dragon alike it would be too painful a reminder for me, so I satisfy myself with little things like inspirational songs and I find happiness in that
(is that so wrong?),
Admiring the art of somebody that had a vision of a dragon and decided to make it.
(is that a stereotype if I like the picture even if it isn't the dragons I've seen?)

The reality is a b**** but we have to cope with it, Some of us, like you and me Dracorian, have Greater appreciation, understanding and wisdom that comes with it of the things in life. But not everybody is like us, some had experiences that are only pleasant and intriguing, they didn't experience the anger or sadness or anything related to their past lives.
Some even have dragon counterparts that talk to one another for greater understanding of one another or just about questions about life in general.

Some beings that have passed carry strong emotions in their afterlife, Anger is one of them, If dracorian your dragon counterpart decided to teach you about its anger that he had buried inside him, he only made you stronger, but don't let it twist you in way not desirable Smile
(like a real prophet words lol)

But don't take anything seriously from me, I'm just one of those who have experienced more than I can handle at the time and I didn't know what to do. All in all Dracorian I stand by your viewpoint and many of us do, but we just don't want to accept it, we would rather see things that we aspire to be, that is the reality and will always will be

And btw on the standpoint of songs I have some songs that probably would touch anybody's heart, I think Bryan Adams also identified with flying beings aka dragons
(you can even hear him say dragon in one of his songs that I posted, its in Dont let go [1:51 I think], and btw the 2 of songs named Here I Am, but they are different songs actually)
