So many of us have not seen or heard much from each-other in the intervening years since SDB went down so what's everyone been up to?

Me I was mostly busy with work near constant overtime. attempted to learn how to GM/DM rpgs until OT at work ate that too with 60+ hr workweeks becoming the norm. So yeah work is about all Ive been up to when i wasn't on vacation. vacations i was mostly spending camping or dealing with whatever disaster happened at home.

Wow that's a lot of work! I would literally die

I've been at university, I'm done now and in October I will graduate with a BSc in animal behaviour. I'm going back to my job at a hotel whilst I apply to zoos and such, in the hope of starting off my career as a zoo keeper. After about a year I'm thinking of going back into education and doing a masters degree, but we'll see what life throws at me!

Nice, Ravenheart! Sounds exciting

Since I was called away from SDB by life, I have obtained a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Small Business Entrepreneurship (2012) followed by a double MBA with minors in Project Management and Information Security (2015). I got married last May and our daughter Zoe was born on Thanksgiving day. Right now I am a stay-at-home-mom, but will be starting a PT job this week. Though, as soon as things start getting rolling with an investor, I will be opening my coffee bar--finally. Only took 10 years...

Been progressing through my military career, while attending school again. Ended up jobless, homeless, and without a vehicle while on active duty last year. Almost killed myself a couple years ago in a bad BMX crash. Had a daughter, she's 4 now and barely knows me mom cheated on me and left with her husband without a word to me, took my daughter, and I can't do anything about it. Life these past few years have not been kind.

On the upside, I came out to my mother and many of my trusted friends and family I'm transgender. Actually it all started with my mom taking me for a drive and asking if I'm gay lol. I have a very loving boyfriend, we've known eachother for almost 5 years now and if it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't be here right now.

I'm pushing through though. Just got employed again, have a reliable vehicle, and things are coming back into place.

Phew it sounds like we've all been working our tails off and fell off the internet, at least some what. it truly feels good to have silver back as well as bit by bit our members.

Galadreyil coming out to your family and good friends must have been hard. but to come out here is braver yet. I feel Honored that you trust the greater community of silver many of whom you probably know only through a screen. for that we have much to thank Syrobe and most all for those who passed through these "halls" for.

Jaden I now Ive said it Before, but, Congradulations! and that many times over. Keep kicking butt girlfriend!

Ravenheart, people who saw the before and after were saying that the company i worked for was running its workers int the grave. I seriously had trouble walking on some of the few weekends I had off. i limped constantly. I was often too exhausted to even cry. I literally had to call in sick some days as i couldn't reliably walk from the bedroom to the toilet with out my legs giving out or stay awake long-enough to get dressed and eat my breakfast. No way in hell was i going to risk the stairs. Id get home and not be able to hold forks or pick up a pen or paper.

Now for most of the last 5-6 years Dark and I have been fighting to get on similar hours every time one of us would get switched, would change a week later . with us both working mandatory OT We'd never see each other and we live under the same roof. process that a moment.

we communicated via sticky not text message and face book. when a rare overlapping day off happened spent it hibernating o constantly waking each other up. Money isn't worth that so I quit the company bribed me to stay. their bribe No More OT, and an immediate change of shifts to something where Dark and i get to spend time with each-other.

currently feeling Better... ish. though no where near 100% looking for new work. hopefully one that feels more important, meaningful or worth while. Like I'm achieving or able to set goals and achieve something.

Hi Galadreyil! Oh man, sounds like you have had such a rough time! I'm sorry to hear about all the things you have been through. We had a similar situation with my nephews, where the mother decided to stop us all from being able to see them out of pure spite. After a lot of court battles, a whole lot of slander and a long time not seeing them, we finally can now, although she threatens constantly that she's going to up and do it all again. It's a terrible situation and it's madness how few rights men have when it comes to seeing their children, it seems these mothers can say and do just about anything and yet do not get their comeuppance where the law is concerned? I really hope things change for you soon, the way the law sees fathers is changing but it is so painstakingly slow, i'm sure it offers little comfort for you.

It's so great to hear you have come out! I bet it feels great being able to be yourself now! And it's good that you are in a happy relationship. It sounds like things are getting better, I hope they continue to do so for you!

Queenie, it's crazy they can work people like that! Surely that's against your human rights... So glad you took a stand and quit, it sounds like it was definitely the right thing to do. I wish you luck with job hunting, any particular profession you are looking for?

Unknown I'm considering possibly going back to school possibly for archeture. There are also folks who serouslywant to teach me how to do tattooing. I'm able to write or draw for up town hour now on a good day without pain. Its better than I was at my worst but not where I need to be, nor where I was before I sprained my right thumb (between the last Halloween and thanksgiving before silver went down.)
